Namestnikov and Miller kinda cancel each other out. I guess if the Rangers hit on 1 prospect and 1 pick it'll be worth it.

I guess so but I'm not convinced that Namestnikov isn't a product of the team he's playing on. I like Miller's game more but I suppose you're right.

Tampa is pretty loaded now though. Got a nice 2 year window with Mac too. Could always flip him at next year's deadline if he's not a good fit.

I have zero doubt that the relationship between EK and the team COULD be salvaged between now and July. He truly wants to be in Ottawa. Commit to him financially and in other ways and he would stay.

However, I have essentially zero faith that a Melnyk led leadership group is capable of doing this. He's gone in the summer because of Melnyk's delerium tremens induced delusions and ego.

I just have to hope for an ownership change between now and the summer basically.

I like Hornqvist, but that's a lot of term...

He'll be worth it for the first three years, at least, so I'll say it's a solid deal. After that, the whole team will be getting a little old anyway.

He might even manage earning those dollars by the end of it with reduced minutes and a bit of a powerplay specialist role.

I tend to agree Namestnikov numbers are probably inflated with who he plays with, Krieder and Z are no where near the scorers he was playing with. Now if TB gets kicked out in the first round this year wins the SC next year and Howden and the other prospect become top players then yes the Rangers got a sweet deal. Im thinking since its the Rangers they wont and TB wins the cup this year.
