Herniated disks are always serious... He might be able to play through it for a while but at some point it will become a even more serious issue. And surgery options for these sort of things rarely completely restore the situation.

He walked 4 guys tonight and their BA avg are .210 (2x), .246 and .250. That creates a problem for good pitchers, much less for those who aren't.

Glad to hear that for you DT. Unfortunately, I know a whole lot of people who have not had similar experiences. I hope Fielders case goes the way yours did.
