Pre-analysis bias: Tough one. Two contemporaries from a "golden age" of shortstops. Not sure who will win.

I listed their 100+ seasons because it quite shocking. When Trammell was not solid with the bat, he was below average. Horribly inconsistent. Larkin had the slightly better spread of impactful seasons. Winner: Larkin (close, but solid win)

My memory of these players says that Larkin was a solid defender, but the metrics say Tramell was better. I did not follow either player that closely, though, and I do remember both of them as being solid. Winner: Tramell (close)

Larkin played opposite Ozzie Smith and Tramell played opposite Ripken. That explains Larkins lack of gold gloves and Tramells lack of silver sluggers. But when it comes to accolades, even ignoring the HOF, Larkin is still more decorated. Winner: Larkin (not close)

This one is close, but clear, I think. Slightly surprising.

Both players were not great with longevity... Larkin ONLY had 10 seasons of 500+PA and Trammell only had 12...

Trammell was the better defender, but they both had similar best seasons... Just Trammell had a longer stretch of being a good defender...
