This will be the final one in the first round.

I am taking the wife on a getaway next week and will be in a place where there is no internet, so I will start the second round on the 26th.

It's funny that Walker has better numbers almost wholesale than Slaughter, but Walker will never sniff the HOF.

Walker is the definition of the Colorado Outlier... He played for the expos and cardinals and was mediocre there, but his 10 seasons with Colorado he was an ELITE player...

His Home/away splits are also a joke with a .278BA/.370OBP/.495SLG vs .348BA/.431OBP/.637SLG

Problem in the comparison with Walker vs Slaughter is that Walker's away numbers are similar to Slaughter's career numbers...

So I cant see a way to vote slaughter over Walker even with the Colorado effect...

Yup. Anyone who plays/played with Colorado has a worse stank, IMHO, than HGH. That place is a video game console.

I am so pissed off that Johnny Mize lost to hank Greenberg while both of these players are still in... It is tough seeing some matchups and how some players just got unlucky with their matchup, while others had cake walks...

This is a cake walk for Walker...

ahahahahahahaha what? This isn't even remotely true. Walker batted .281/.357/.483 with a 128 OPS+ as an Expo. Combine that with his highly regarded defense and his baserunning and you have yourself a damn good player. Walker had over 20 WAR in his first five seasons in Montreal (excluding his cup of coffee in 1989). He also batted .322/.394/.587 (151 OPS+) in his final season in Montreal and clubbed 44 doubles in just 103 games.

As for STL, his final two seasons where he was 37-38 years old, he batted .286/.387/.520 (134 OPS+).

Walker was top 10 in the league in OPS in two of his last three seasons in Montreal (when he was just entering his prime as a 25-27 year old).

With the Cardinals at the end of his career (about a full season's worth of games), he posted a .908 OPS.

I think you're severely undervaluing his contributions when he was with those teams.

When you're taking her out there, make sure you obey the traffic laws and don't do anything stupid. You don't want to get pulled over by the cops and have them pop the trunk and find her.

To be completely fair his career numbers away from Coors are actually a little higher than that away number. I get .282/.372/.501.

Um, you don't think Vinny Castilla is a better example? Or Dante Bichette?

Tulo.

Arenado actually has reverse splits. It is really odd. That dude is a beast.

In all fairness, Tulo's been pretty solid on the road in his career....he's got an .809 career road OPS and that's in a division (up until he was traded) where three of the four rivals' home parks are pretty extreme pitchers' parks.

A guy like Dante Bichette by comparison in the majority of his Rockie seasons had a 1.000+ OPS at home and .700 or less on the road. I'd say that's a Coors made guy.

.809 is still quite good for a shortstop.
