This is another one that is much closer than it first appeared...

Power- Schmidt wins(close)(despite XBH% being close HR% was not close at all)
XBH%
Schmidt-Career=10.1, Best=12.4, # of 499+PA seasons better=10, MLB average=6.5(3.6)
Brett= Career=9.6, Best=12.8, # of 499+PA seasons better=9, MLB average=6.5(3.1)

BA- Brett wins(NOT CLOSE)
Schmidt- Career=.267, Best=.316, # of 499+ seasons better=8, MLB average=.267(0)
Brett- Career=.305, Best=.390, # of 499+PA seasons better=9, MLB average=.263(.045)

BB-Schmidt wins(NOT CLOSE)
BB%
Schmidt-Career=15, Best=19.1, # of 499+PA seasons better=6, MLB average=8.5(6.5)
Brett-Career=9.4, Best=15.5, # of 499+PA seasons better=9, MLB average=8.6(.8)

SO- Brett wins (NOT CLOSE)
SO%
Schmidt-Career=18.7, Best=9.3, # of 499+PA seasons better= 8, MLB average=13.7(-5)
Brett- Career=7.8, Best=3.8, # of 499+PA seasons better=9, MLB average=13.9(6.1)

defense- Schmidt wins(semi close)
dWAR
Schmidt-Career=17.6, Best=2.5, # of seasons 1 or over=10, # of seasons over 0=15
Brett- Career=1.2, Best=2.1, # of seasons 1 or over=6, # of seasons over 0=10

Postseasons- Brett wins(NOT CLOSE)

Career longevity- Brett wins(over 1000 more PA)
positional longevity- Schmidt wins(around 600 more games)
#499+PA seasons= Schmidt=13, Brett=17

Much closer than I thought it would be... But it looks like Schmidt just pulls out the win...

Schmidt was better defensively, power, and OBP... that is enough to compensate for being worse at BA and SO...

OPS+ (Schmidt/Brett)
120 - 13/12
130 - 12/9
140 - 12/8
150 - 10/3
160 - 3/2
170 - 2/2
180 - 1/1 (198/203)

They had very similar peaks, but Schmidt was more consistently VERY good. Closer than I expected, but Schjmidt takes this.

Defense
Schmidt was VERY strong defensively while Brett was simply "not-bad". Schmidt wins this.

Accolades
Schmidt - 3 MVP, 12 ASG, 10 GG, 6 SS, 9 top 10 MVP
Brett - 1 MVP, 13 ASG, 1 GG, 3 SS, 5 top 10 MVP

Schmidt wins handily, but it is closer than I was expecting.
