Explanation is as follows:

In order to compare players on different teams, there must be an adjustment to the raw numbers. The method used here is the on/off ice method. A player’s numbers when he is on the ice are compared to that of his teammates when he is not on the ice. This is the method used by behind the net. As an adjustment method, it is much more dependent upon teammate quality than other methods. It makes it more likely to select good players on bad teams as top players and bad players on good teams as poor players.

Yeah, it's a pretty good tool, but that's all it is.

/Did you know that the San Jose Sharks were the highest ranked Corsi team last season?

In that case it is the most accurate stat around and I believe it whole heartedly.

Tanner WAY at the bottom.
I knew there was a reason he became my whipping-boy

KuklasKorner : The Puck Stops Here : Worst 20 Corsi Rates

regarding Manny:
Among forwards, Manny Malhotra had the most ice time, but played such an incredibly tough role with a huge number of defensive zone starts that if that is taken into account he has a positive adjusted Corsi.

In other words, he's saying NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND. :bounce:

Now all we need is for the Corsi ratings to put on a giant Penguins suit, because we all know that the Corsi predictions are always wrong, sweetheart!

The main problem that I see here is the different roles that these players play. Kesler should be up even higher because he comes out in a lot of defensive situations, where as Daniel Sedin is almost purely in offensive situations. Essentially, even if it's just based on the top two lines (forwards or defensemen) it's still off.
