I completely forgot about Isaiah so that knocks GP off my list. Still with the exception of Isaiah, GP at worst would cancel out and at best shut the players you named. He basically taught Kidd the game so I always roll with the teacher not the student. As far a Pip goes the same thing. 1-3 he is shutting or slowing down any player on anyone elses list. Theres not much anyone could show me to convince me that he is not a top 6 player of all time.

You don't know what you're talking about. Simple as that.

Fair enough. I am a huge Pippen fan, but I disagree with you on this. He was only a legit MVP candidate one time. It is hard for me to put a player in the top 10 all time, when he wasn't even one of the top 2 or 3 players in the league during his era.

As for Hammer's rankings, judging by the fact that he had 2 number 10s, I am assuming the Fat Lever thing was a joke. Thurl Bailey as well, since the Jazz have 3 front-court players on their roster today who are as good or better. Bailey did have some sweet rec specs though.

The other thing is that great offense beats great defense. Defense is vitally important to championship teams, but in terms of all time great status, players who were great defenders and above average offensive players don't quite make the cut, IMO.

All time greats are elite offensive players who are good to great on the defensive end as well.

Now that is bold. You must give a ton of extra credit for the rec specs. Not that I blame you, they were really sweet.

I'm kidding, man. :suds:

Russell is to D as MJ and Magic were to O, he was brilliant, an artist but calculating. In an offensively dominant game that says much more in my opinion. I can not in good consience discount Russells accolades with out discounting MJs much more. That said, Kareem's longevity and dominance is unmatched on both ends of the court.

I think any of those 3 are perfect choices for the #1 spot, it greatly pains me to not have Russell be number 1 but Kareem was dominant on both ends and did it longer.

Also in my opinion bigs belong more at the top than the rest because they affect the game so much more than smaller players.

1. Kareem
2. Russell
3. MJ
4. Magic
5. Wilt
6. Bird
7. SHAQ
8. Irving
9. Hakeem
10. Tim Duncan
11. Kobe
12. Big O (pace adjusted stats be DAMNED)
13. Pippen (DEFENSE)
14. Elgin Baylor
15. Isiah Thomas

LBJ will not be on my list seeing how he just reached his prime. 4 MVPs and back 2 back, youngest to 20k points, very adequate rebounding numbers for a PF and assist numbers you would be happy a franchise PG would have. His ability to smother PGs and play D against Centers makes me think he could be put top 8 though. He is Pippen with Magic's O but with a 3p shot. Very sick his ability. Also he is a team first player...ok seriously I need to stop, he is not on the list.

It would be kind of hard to be a MVP candidate playing with the MVP. I think Pip was 2nd best player in the league during that run. I guess we can agree to disagree on the Pippen point though. Nice to see you have some intelligence and respect in presenting your points and opinions.

Someone please check Wilt's stats against the great Bill Russell please. Then come tell me how he was "brilliant." He was brilliant against 6' 4" white guys name Charles and Herman.

I'm sorry people, Pippen does not belong on a top 15 list, great on one-side of the ball doesn't equal top 15. Top 25 I could go for.

I'm waiting for your reasons why. I should call you a moron but I wont.

Dude, you've never even heard of George Gervin. Magic recently said that the two best one-on-one basketball players ever were MJ and Iceman. Fact.
