What I don't understand is we can watch the play on TV & see the play clearly, while an official can have the same play right in front of him & get it wrong.

It is a fast game, and honestly, a view on TV is often better...but when you're getting paid and working at the elite level, you need to be good at your job. If we were all that bad at our jobs, we wouldn't have a job.

If you read the SI article on which the whole thing is based, it says they talked to something like 14 players and executives from the Jets, all but one of them anonymously, which is what the "He's Terrible" headline is based on.

It really is pretty telling when you can't even manage to take the starting job away from Mark Sanchez.

i saw that ... broken rib was/is pressing on his aorta ... good god that would have been a horrible thing to see unfold for the worse on field

That would have been awful. I just need to hear it from the team or the doctor himself. Big Ben has been known to embellish his injuries.

Not sure why Ben would make up an injury like this. Also...this is an extraordinarily rare injury. I highly doubt he has the knowledge to make up something like that. In fact, he's lucky the injury happened on a third down...you know he would've tried to play through it. Honestly I've never seen/heard of a first rib dislocation, certainly not posteriorly. Definitely an extremely dangerous situation.

I really hate that I don't know much about this injury. No idea what the time to heal is. I imagine most of what holds you back with this is pain. Rib injuries are notoriously painful, but having such high risk associated as well, I can't even guess what the healing time is.

This makes at least 3 times he has released injury info to the media that the Steelers have either refuted or not released themselves...


/Like i said i'm awaiting the doctors word or something from the Steelers before i buy into the "i could die"...
