I'm not about to defend her, but just because he plead guilty to a lesser charge doesn't mean he didn't actually do it. Unfortunately we'll never know what really happened.

That is really great news. I almost feel guilty watching the sport because of how crippling it is to those involved. Maybe advances in the treatment of head trauma can prevent the sport from becoming extinct in the next 50 years.

What's almost worrisome about this though: will the knowledge of a "cure" or of treatment only lead to more reckless play? That's a very distinct possibility. Even now they play like idiots, and that's knowing that a life of depression, head aches, early onset dementia, and essentially a loss of current lifestyle awaits. I hope they find a way to treat it, I really really do, but I worry about the repercussions will be.
