ive said it many times, we should draft a RB every year in the mid to late rounds.

the chiefs got good production out of a 7th round RB this year Isiah Pacheco (RB): Bio, News, Stats & more
Agreed. Save rounds 1-4 for those major needs. round 5 is a good round to pick RB as there will be a good amount to choose from.

Well Pete seems to understand what we need to do..
“Those guys are the real deal and they’ve other guys in their rotations as well,” he said. “Picture the really hot defenses around the league -- there’s players on the front that make a difference and they distract you from everything else that’s going on. The Aaron Donald effect is so obvious at the Rams. He made everybody better because he was so hard to deal with. Well, Bosa is one of those kind of guys and Armstead is another one.

“… In years past, when we were really on it defensively, we had seven or eight guys that you had to deal with and some problem guys up front. We did it a little bit differently back then, but you’ve got to have issues that you cause for the opponent, so we [have] to get better.”

One thing all 4 teams left have is excellent defensive front 7s.

Tremaine edmunds and Devin bush were 1st round picks? I don't know how good they are or what they would cost

Maybe lavonte david for some leadership if he comes cheap

Drew sanders would be a Great pick at the top of the 2nd round

I'd like Devin Bush for sure but he's coming off his rookie deal so he'll be asking for at least 12 million per year would be my guess...

Van Noy is an interesting possibility...
Seahawks could maybe sign both and upgrade the defense by a lot.

And 3 of the 4 teams have their QB on their rookie deals still...

I think we all agree that it is best to have a stud QB on their rookie deal. But that is a pretty small window. And a lot easier said than done. The Niners have the last pick in the draft starting in the NFC championship game.

What's impressive is that these 4 QB's have a combined record of 35-2 since November 1st...

Yeah. I do think that this year shows that, while having a QB is still the best way to succeed, if you can amass some great talent that will help a lot as well.

IMO, I do think that Mahomes and Burrow are the 2 best QBs in football right now.

I really like Tremaine Edmunds out of Buffalo, but he'll be expensive. I know Buff runs a 4-3 (which Seattle should absolutely switch back to, Mafe projects better as a 4-3 end and so does Taylor) but I think Edmunds has the best upside given his age. I'm sure Buff wont let him walk though.

Kyle Van Noy has had injuries but while healthy plays real well.

In the scenario they extend Geno it's most likely going to be a 3 year deal. Sure you could land your next QB by drafting him at #5, but then you only get him on a friendly deal for a year and you don't even know if it's going to be a hit or bust.

It's not a precise comparison, but look what happened with the Packers. They selected Jordan Love to be the next QB when the Packers needed WRs. They could've landed Tee Higgins or Michael Pittman Jr. with that pick.

Dont forget they have Tre Brown who has not been able to get on the field because of Injury and other issues he might be the answer for the other side.

Jones should have been retained as he was their best CB in 2021 and it wasn't even close then he got hurt and they never got him back on the field.

Kiper has us taking Levis.

While I think this isn't the most likely outcome, it is certainly a possibility.
It wouldnt be my favorite thing, but I would not hate it as long as we didn't also blow money on a FA QB (including Geno). It's one or the other for me: cap space to secure the QB or 1.5 to fill the hole if we have one. I know next to nothing about Levis other than he's pretty big.

And at 20?

Byron Young.

Obviously Kiper is likely wrong. Not because he doesn't know what he is talking about. Just that it's tough to know what every team is going to do.

Agreed. If we sign Geno for even a team friendly deal then I would be very disappointed if we used either 1st rounder on a QB. I guess I would be ok if one of the top 3 somehow dropped to us at 20 but that seems unlikely.

If we don't sign Geno then I would be ok with drafting Levis.

Truth be told, I think we will know if they are going QB well before the draft. If they re-sign Geno, they aren't going QB. If they don't and they sign a bunch of high quality defensive FAs and bring back Lock or bring in some other mid-tier guy, then I would say we are drafting a QB.
