I've personally never liked Tony Stewart. He's always been a fucking huge prick and every body knows it.

Even with that being the case, I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt. I don't think he could have possibly at any point thought "I'm gonna murder this 20 year old kid right now."

I think it was an accident, but if Tony tries to say he didn't see him......that is going to piss me off.

:agree:

You can see the kid as plain as day on any video, and most of the videos are from phones, so no doubt he saw the kid.... He just wanted to buzz the kid, teach him a lesson, only the results of his ego trip were catastrophic.

No way it was murder.

And while I think it was likely trying to scare him and the result was an accident and not his intent, I am not upset at the notion Tony will likely see nothing much happen legally/criminally. Honestly, I don't think it would do anything to help. I think no matter what a big lesson was learned for racing in general.

Btw, why didn't the first guy who dodged him and said he didn't see him until the last second not also hit the gas to dodge him, but instead only turned the wheels?

So why did Tony punch the gas then?

It's how these cars drive. The outside tires are much larger than the inside tires. The outside tire gets all the traction. If you let off the gas the car pulls towards the bigger tires...towards the outside of the track or in this case towards Ward.

When you accelerate, the big tires grip and force the car inside away from ward. Look at the video again, the blue car gunned it too.

If you gun the car on dirt, it is going to spin the wheels and most likely the rear of the car can and will kick out. There was no reason for anyone to hit the gas, just steer around the kid and go. It's without a doubt Ward wasn't looking for the driver in the first car, he was looking for Tony. So he would of had no trouble getting around him.

just a thought, but being as it is a dirt track, wouldnt visibility through a windshield(dont even know if they have them) or helmet visor being dirty further be inhibited?

No windshield, yes on the visor. They have tear offs to remove the dirt if needed when that becomes a problem usually. It's like layers of plastic similar to one that covers your phone with a tab hanging off they just pull and dirt is gone with it.

I'm not sure if that is the case with this series. Seems like it would be something he could afford and would use to me.

So why did Tony punch the gas then?

Because that's how those cars are built. Acceleration makes them easier to maneuver and steer. It's likely that he punched the gas so that the car would be easier to maneuver away from Ward. Keep in mind also, that you can see in the video, that Ward moved to avoid the #45 car which is part of the reason that car didn't hit him. The driver of the #45 car had very little time to react. Stewart had even less time.

These quotes are from the facebook page of Mark Tychoniewicz who was part of the crew working on the #45 car:

i have driven these cars, the right side board on the top wing will block out an entire car let alone a person standing there,i now work on the 45 car in the video and the driver said he just saw him at the last second and just missed him,Tony had even less time to react to the situation.people in the stands or watching this video have no idea how fast these thing happen and how limited our view is inside the car.it was a very bad turn of events that happened but we all know the dangers involved in the sport we love.

just a little more input for the so called "EXPERTS" Tony was ahead of Kevin when he wrecked,he had no idea that Kevin was the reason for the caution untill he came back around, how could that be premeditated ???

The guy in front of Tony did not gun it.

I mean it's plain as day, and the audio will tell you that as well. You can hear Tony accelerate hardcore.

“I seen Kevin clear as day. Nobody else ran into him, either,” he told NBC News, noting he was close enough to see Ward’s face after the 20-year-old stepped out of his car, angrily gesturing at Stewart.

I mean, yea I know how these cars drive. I used to go to these races all the time with my dad. We're a big racing family.

But the fact is, the kid did not go head on into Tony's car. There was nothing for him to try to miss.

He didn't have to, Ward moved out of the way of his car because that wasn't who he was after. He moved in front of Stewarts car.

That's also plain as day.

Please explain to me how that can be plain as day when you don't even see Tony's car until he's hitting the gas and pretty much the kid as well.

If you've been to those races then you know that the rear tires are fairly wide outside the body of the car. So it's entirely possible to not get hit by the car, but still get hit by the rear tire, which is pretty much exactly what happened.
