Today they were showing the collection of clips from over the years where Tony Stewart lost his shit during races and did random insane ridiculous shit.

I've watched him ever since I was a little kid as my family are huge fans.

He is the most psycho "athlete" in country.

Had a guy at work today who is a Tony Stewart fan try to argue that he didn't see Ward on the track until the last second and then when he saw him it scared him and his foot punched the gas to try to get away from him.

People will get themselves to believe just about anything to keep their fantasy going.

Just saw the ESPN segment this morning interviewing a fellow Sprint car racer and friend of Ward. His first statement was that this was not Stewart's fault. Addressed those stating he hit the gas and said exactly what pitman has already mentioned in this thread; that Sprint cars turn just as much with the back tires as the front and in his opinion Tony did what he could to avoid hitting Ward.

You could make arguments for both sides of this.

Just watch the video. The kid didn't get in front of the car, he was beside it pointing his finger in through the window. Then Stewart guns it.

Only Tony Stewart knows what really happened. If he was trying to kick some dirt up on him though, he will never admit it.

I read the article of Ward Jr.'s dad blaming Tony Stewart for the death and how it could be avoidable. He made a couple points that I think most people would find a strong argument, I don't find it strong at all.

The only thing he said that I do agree with is "the death was avoidable." I just think if his son stayed in the vehicle until safety crew got to him, he would be alive today.

He brings up how Stewart is a NASCAR driver and the best one there. Why would he cause the accident? It wasn't the accident that killed the son. I'm sure Tony Stewart was not expecting someone out of the car walking toward the car. I've noticed on the rare occasion I watched NASCAR, when accidents happen, they stay in the car until safety crew get there.

I've watched the sport since I was a wee little one.

Tony Stewart has never changed. He's always been a hothead and he makes snap decisions. He has been going through Anger Management counseling for quite a while now.

Bottom line is there is blame to go on both sides.

Tony Stewart never meant to hurt the kid, but he did gun it on purpose. His intention was obviously not to hit him.
