John Kincade is saying on CBS Sports radio that drivers in this race were told by officials to stay in the car till the safety crews arrive unless it is an emergency.

That's what every driver on the track ever has been told. Unless your car is on fire you don't leave it.

I don't know anything about racing; from what I hear this stuff happens all the time and many including Tony have gotten out of their car to confront someone. The blame is more on their macho road rage culture than one rogue youth. Hundreds of people should be sued.

Exactly. It is never a good idea to walk into oncoming traffic on a race track in the middle of a race.
