The Heisman is a joke. Was Suh even invited to the announcement? I don't remember him even being in the top 3 of voting that year.
Behind Colt McCoy tells you all you need to know about the award.
One of the most dominant performances at DT in CFB history. Hell, one of the most dominant at any position.

Why the fuck do we care what Tom Herman has to say about this.

Although I would like to see defensive people win the award more, I thought Ingram was pretty deserving. He pretty much carried Alabama on his back during October/November that year. The majority of his rushing yards were after contact, he earned them all.
Suh was a monster, no doubt about that. He is dirty in the NFL and I don't care for that. Maybe I just missed it, but I don't remember him being dirty at Nebraska.
But yeah, it's a dumb award really and should formally be renamed the "Hypesman". I'm happy for the players that win it, but I don't care much about it.
Many argued he wasn't even the best back on his own team the year he won it (most talented might be better). The following year that argument made even more sense. Good college RB, behind a killer OL. Its a compliment to the program, but I tend to think Bama RBs are over-rated. Just like Wisconsin RBs. It just seems anyone can go for 1k behind those OLs (in general). Suh was a special college player.
Ingram is actually one of the league’s best when it comes to gaining yards after being hit, per Pro Football Focus.
On almost 88% of his carries, Ingram is able to gain positive yardage after contact. That’s basically on 9 out of every 10 carries where he’s able to gain at least an extra yard or two.
