and no, i do not believe that the third best team would be truly elite in that situation. i believe that there is only 1 or 2 truly elite teams each season....and those teams end up in the champ game...then we find out who the most elite is....thats how it goes

We're ranked seven and you are ranked eighth. I don't know why you're calling us out when we were clearly much better than you last year.

As for not being elite in 2010, are you out of your mind? We had two losses to teams that went a combined 24-2. The losses were by a combined twelve points, and we were the only team all season to beat Ohio State. We scored 70 points against three different teams. We were at worst the eighth best team in America last year, and were probably the third best team in the country once our team adjusted to injuries.

Rankings are really meaningless outside of the top 2.

i think that LSU would have handled you. quite easily. its been proven that speed beats the B1G....LSU has speed, size, strength, and thug-ness swag.....SEC LSU vs B1G whiskey....LSU wins easily

Because the ranking system is stupid and overpenalizes teams for losing to good teams. Anybody who saw the Rose Bowl knows we were just as good as TCU. It was a coin flip game, and TCU won. If TCU was the second best team in the country (and I really think they were), there is no way we were worse than fourth or fifth.

Wisconsin could only manage 19 points against a severely undersized D-Line.

By your own admission they couldn't push a 2 point conversion over on that undersized D-Line..

whats annoying is that if nebraska wins all these damn analysts are gonna be saying "coming in to this season i knew nebraska had it in them to make a statement, this win doesn't surprise me all that much when i look back on it"
