For those critical of UCF not playing the 2-1 scheduling game, how much does a win over Florida improve that 9% number? What I'm curious about is what OOC schedule added to their league schedule would allow UCF to control its destiny towards making the playoffs assuming an undefeated season as much as any P5 team?

Meh done it before and always have crashed and burnt. Basically all ya'll have going is you beat and 8-4 Auburn team.

We can't all be Bama and win every other championship. For some smaller programs, a Peach Bowl trophy is a huge deal. 1 loss in 2 years is a huge deal. Back to back Conference Championships is a huge deal and something not many schools can do.

1 offer from 1 team. Don't see anyone else reaching out to us. We booked Stanford thinking that would help us, they declined. We booked UNC when they were ACC title material, they declined. We booked Louisville when they were a top 15 team, they declined. Not our fault. Yeah, we could've accepted the 2 for 1 but knowing Florida, who JUST became a top 10 team again, they would've declined too.

Because if some of the teams ranked ahead of you won out, they would have a better than 9% chance. The only reason they don't have better than a 9% chance now is that Wisconsin, Penn St, Florida etc... don't play your candy ass schedule. If all the team ahead of you had your remaining schedule they would have a much better shot at the playoffs and yours would be much worse.

We don’t need them, they need us. They can take the deals they’re offered, or they can keep scheduling the same weakass OOC schedule they have been and have a 10% chance of getting in the playoff even if they go undefeated every year. We don’t need to step up, they do.

Just like happened with Stanford, they can guarantee you will be top 20 when you play. And being a new up and comer there is more chance a big P5 school will be in the top 20 over you.
