Danny, no wonder Pats did not start Mac. Could get confusing.
Jones playing ok, but 2 sacks already and getting rattled
I think thats a fair point. I also think that if you have an offensive genius as a head coach then you want the athletic freak with the upside. If you're a defensive coach then you want the pocket passer that can be a coach on the field. This was one of the biggest concerns I had about him around draft time when everybody was saying Mac Jones to the 9ers.
Because he's just average at best physically the question was how was he going to fare when plays didn't go exactly as planned or when he had pressure in his face before he wanted. How capable was he win he had to go out and make something happen and play some hero ball.
Way too early to come to any conclusions in that regard given that he's a rookie but those kind of concerns still loom over his head.
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Mac Jones was starting week 1 and Cam was in more of a Taysom Hill role.Mac will be fine. Taking a sack to live another play and avoiding a more costly pick is not a bad thing. Afterall, not everyone has that escapability. See TB12 and Peyton Manning.
I'm very impressed with Mac Jones.

It's hard to follow Tom Brady. If Mac Jones has one good game then the media will turn into a circus. Good thing you guys have Bellichick to always cool that down.
I hope you're right. But I think BB starts Cam thru the first four games. Unless he's unbelievably bad. I think BB doesn't want to put that extra pressure on Mac until after the Tampa game. What a field day the press would have leading up to it.I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Mac Jones was starting week 1 and Cam was in more of a Taysom Hill role.

Best scenario BB brings in Mac to replace Cam during the TB game. When he enters they're losing. Come 0:00 on the clock NE squeaks out a victory on a long FG by Nordin.
The next chapter. Could history repeat itself? Did BB catch lightning in a bottle twice?Sounds like you're trying to write a daytime feel good movie
Looks like BB went the other direction. Get rid of Cam as a distraction and just give Mac the team.I hope you're right. But I think BB starts Cam thru the first four games.
