Oh boy; I sense that I have offended.
I'm all for knocking Chicago out of their current seed: I just am trying to keep from getting my hopes up too high.
Obviously were sitting pretty good as is but win both these games on Friday/Saturday and that should real seal up the gap. Going to be tough games. Need to get momentum going at home!!
Since we technically only need to stay in front of 1 of the Kings/flames we really just can't lose both games. But winning both would be so huge.
I'll be at the game tomorrow night doing the best I can to aid with the home ice advantage.
Preferably, we win 4 out of our next 5, because those last three on the road? Let's just say I don't want to be in a position where we're hoping the opposing teams are resting their guys.
On the flip side, I know we're 3 back of Chicago and they have a game in hand.... but I'm still eyeing that spot.
Insane that we actually caught the blackhawks for a brief moment. I still think they finish ahead of us but I didn't think we'd ever catch them even with games in haNd. We could be top 2 in the conference if we weren't so bad in December/January!! O well, getting hot at right time is what matters.
Still want us finishing 7th though. Passing Chicago gurantees we play in the central playoff pod.
Kuemper gets the start tonight. Yeo didn't want to play Dubnyk 3 games in 4 nights. He's earned the nigth off...
With a win tonight, the Wild would tie the Red Wings with the longest road winning streak (12). Quite an accomplishment.
Having clinched night before last, and with Kuemper getting the nod, I don't see the streak continuing.
Dooby, Parise, Vanek and Nino all have the night off. Gonna be a rough one in Nashville but you never know.
Resting these guys tonight- will likely rest others on Saturday I assume.
