I think Lunardi believes Minnesota will finish 8-10 and will win 2 in the B1G tourney.

He is really high on their talent and their coach.

Yep. Losing 7 of their last 10 is quite impressive. That Pitino is quite the coach with all that talent.

If we beat Indiana I am going to be feeling pretty high and mighty heading into that game against Wisconsin.

I just honestly don't think we are playing good enough. Like you said, RA, we aren't shooting well enough. Gallegos being off the mark is one thing, but when Petteway is struggling we have to find 15 or so points out of a couple more players in order to compete.

I think Shields will show up for this game. He is the most determined player we have on this team as far as getting to the basket. I also like the confidence that is growing in Benny and Rivers. Those 2 can really really help us in a game like this.

Petteway really is the wild card that can be the difference between an 11 point loss and an 11 point win on the road.

Yep, popularity thing.

Nebraska is arguably one of the hottest teams in the country......Minnesota is arguably one of the coldest.

In the past that used to make a difference.....not anymore, I guess.

Yeah. Indiana's got some mojo back after beating Iowa and Ohio St. Nebraska needs to shoot real well.

I will say this. I don't think Iowa and Ohio St are all that great, so I'm not giving Nebraska zero chance.

What people have to remember is, Indiana is now 7-9 in the B1G with 4 wins over top 50 teams......

They're 17-12 overall and are probably going to jump into the low 70's in RPI.

If they beat Nebraska, suddenly they have an argument for the NCAA tournament. There is no reason they are going to sleep walk into this game. They have a lot to play for as well.

Blows my mind that Nebraska will finish in the top 6 for sure of the league, maybe even get a first round bye in the B1G tournament and still not make the NCAA. Can't blame anybody though. A week non-conference schedule with several bad losses and a 2-6 road record in conference doesn't sit well with the committee.

Here's to hoping though

Their non-con wasn't weak by any means. UMass, Cincy, Creighton. It's just that they weren't ready to play that type of competition back then.

The UAB loss hurts tho.

So, not to re-open a big can of worms, but explain to me again why Minnesota is in over Nebraska? Is their non-conference schedule the only thing that puts them ahead of Nebraska? I will plead ignorance on how they make the selections, but if I was comparing who is playing better basketball right now and could possibly do some damage in the tournament, I would say Nebraska is playing better basketball than Minnesota, and maybe a push with Iowa. Hell I would even say Nebraska might be a push with Ohio State too. Yet Iowa and Ohio State are both in as a 6 seed, and Minnesota is considered a last 4 in team.

So am I right in assuming that Nebraska could possibly finsish the regular season 4th in the conference and still be snubbed behind Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio State?

Whose dick do we need to suck to get this flipped around?

Minnesota has 4 wins against top 50 teams and Nebraska has 3.

It did have a lot to do with their history and their coach before.....but now we're closing the gap on them.

Xavier, currently a 9 seed in Bracketology might be playing themselves back down to Last 4 In against Seton Hall.

Seton Hall up 7 with 1:07 to play.
