That has to be the stupidest trade deal I've ever heard.....That's a Jack Z trade!

Bring back O'Neil for Santana and Mitchy, ( I know there would be other prospects from the Cards.)

O'Neil is below average. Why bring him back? Dipo looks like a bloody genius after the first trade, Marco>ONeil.....

I don't think they meant forth. Maybe I read it wrong, but I think they meant Santana for O'Neill and prospects or upgrade the trade for Haniger. I do like the idea of looking into Martinez. Add him and hope for the best and then add Wheeler from Mets and maybe get lucky and go after Gerrit Cole from Astros. Now you have upgraded your starting 5 big time which moves up the playoff timeline (I said that w/o laughing) a year and makes 2020 a real season again.

I give it a try like once a week. I am actually going to my first game of the year next week because I was offered a free ticket so Ill watch that day. But the major league product just isnt watchable, interesting or enjoyable right now. I prefer watching other games or checking minor league stats over the major league team. But yeah I actually prefer doing yard work or cleaning over watching the Mariners right now.

:pound:Yard work or cleaning? Yep, I'll meet you half way on that one. I'll prefer yard work but if I have to clean, I'll have the TV on with the game in the background. :D Had the tube on a bit for last night's (Tues) game (wasn't cleaning though) and just don't understand how can this team be so shitty?? Both the offense and defense looked worse than what I'd expect from the Tacoma Rainiers on a bad night. Omar was close to the only one getting hits and stupid errors ruled the night. Servais' post game sucked as usual with the same old lame shit he says. It's no wonder this thread hardly gets any post anymore. Probably.....maybe...only a couple of us bother to tune into (some of) the game anyway.

Always disappointed when I see/hear Aaron in the booth. Anyone know why we never see Rizz in the TV booth?

I read this and it somewhat swayed my opinion on keeping him. Not necessarily due to the prospect return they proposed, but the fact that he probably doesn't completely fit into a long-term role with the Mariners if they want to keep Daniel Vogelbach around at DH.

With all of the great outfield prospects the Mariners have in the minors, I don't think it makes sense to keep Smith, Haniger and Santana in the outfield. If you were inclined to trade Mallex or Haniger, now obviously wouldn't be the right time.

I just hope that if they do decide to trade him that the league values him more than they did when we were able to land him for just Ben Gamel.

I guess you take the highest offer you can.
Personally I would try to move him now since he's hitting pretty damn good.
And the other plus is we don't have to hold our breath anymore when a ball is hit in his direction...

Doesn't make sense to me that he has played so poorly in the outfield. He was always a below average defender but he has been completely awful this year.

Doesn't make sense for us to trade for an outfield prospect when three of the most promising prospects in the Mariners farm system - Julio Rodriguez, Jake Fraley and Jarred Kelenic - all play outfield.

I don't know how those things are determined. I don't think I've heard Rizzs on TV this year but I miss a lot of the games and when I have them on it's normally in the background. There could be a lot of different reasons. Maybe he prefers doing radio and/or he's only contracted to do radio.

Could also be that the Mariners prefer Goldsmith for TV because Rick Rizzs calls the game for people who can't see what's going on. I have the game on right now and Goldsmith always has something to say. I will say that it sounds like Blowers can't stand him.

I muted the TV last night cause he was talking so highly of the A's pitching staff....

Sometimes I wonder if Blowers ever thinks about leaning over and throat punching him when he goes off the rails

Our division must enjoy playing the M's... I don't recall ever seeing a Mariners team this bad... Just think if they didn't start the season 13-2 how bad their record would be... They've been playing more like a 2-13 team the past 3 months...

I literally tuned in last night in the 2nd inning and saw us up 1-0... Then 30 minutes later I was like, "WHY? WHY DID I WATCH THIS?" after Gonzo started getting thumped...

... and I wasn't even surprised to tune in and see us lose 10-2 today... Good thing we keep rolling out our bullpen in the first inning because it's sure working out great... I feel like the only reason I tune in or check boxscores for the M's now days is to see how bad they lost...

Yet the Mariners are stuck with him through 2021 because no one is going to want to trade for a player who is owed $19 million next year and $18 million the year after that, not to mention the $7 million or $8 million still coming to him for the rest of this year. Oh, and not to mention the poison pill in his contract – if Seager is traded, he can exercise a player option that guarantees him $15 million in 2022.

Holy cow... Didn't know about the poison pill in his contract... That pretty much makes him untradeable as it is...

Before I came back on here I read a tweet by a reporter quoting Dipoto around late April, early May saying that Santana fits their short term plans. Found it interesting that a guy of his age and price who was leading the league in RBI's was considered a 'short term' plan. I think that was telling.

I had no idea the situation with Seager was that bad. Not only is no one going to want to trade for him because of the money, why would they want a 3rd baseman who can't hit worth a damn? He's awesome on the defense side but at the plate he's back to sucking like he has the last few years. So much money for Seager and Felix and their contributions aren't even close to what their getting paid. A sad situation for the organization IMO.

Going to the game will always still be fun at the Stadium. You don’t even really have to pay attention to the game and the park itself if still fun. All the other stuff I agree is better than sitting on the couch and either yelling at the TV or hell even right now it isn’t background noise in my house.

I normally would be excited about this but now i'm like, "Who cares"... Sad...

It's really sad that because of how the M's organization is going about it's business, there are probably very few people who really care about this team anymore. Part of it for me is that I feel like I've been burned by this organization so many times that it is just easier to "not care" and that way I'm not emotionally invested and I end up not giving a shit anymore. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel. BUT--I'm excited as hell about Edgar in Cooperstown this weekend and that's a real positive for me. Gar is one of my fav players and I'm looking forward to this weekend for him!! :10:
