Kind of a random albeit unsurprising stat:

Mariners currently averaging 22,491 per home game and it will likely continue to go down as the early high attendance numbers will be weighed down by the team's downward spiral.

That would be the third lowest average per game for the Mariners since 1993. We averaged around 21,000 in 2013 and 2012.

Just saw a followup tweet. Hopefully it can get done.

Hopefully they can get something for Encarnacion, Gordon and Leake too.

Saw the update on MLBTR, if they're in talks something will likely get done. They probably have to go through a lot of technicalities since there will likely be money exchanged. That or someone will come to the Mariners to try to counter Bruce's salary.

I want to apologize for being an unstable fan and taking out my sadness and my hopes on others.
I'm better than that, but I have my moments that set me off. Nothing personal here on the M's board.
I went to a Pilots game in 1969, and followed the Brewers for Years.
They have NEVER won either. Damn.

So, how about 2023?

I know this game is being broadcasted by FOX and Goldsmith is supposed to be neutral, but hearing him light up over the Angels hitting a HR made me like him a little bit less.

I couldn't imagine Dave Niehaus or Rick Rizz doing something like that.

Wow, I totally agree with you about Aaron and his enthusiastic support of the Angels HR and other things too. I really have never cared much for him as an announcer anyway. I get tired of hearing his screaming and going ballistic, particularly when a home run is hit. During the game today, if a person didn't know Goldsmith, they would never have guessed his normal routine is on Root announcing for the Mariners.

Which is why they should’ve rebuilt in 2005 after Edgar retired. The new park alone drew fans. Now, not so much. Seattle is and will always be a “bandwagon” fan base of all sports because of the headache of getting into the Clink and the Pink. Which is why I fear for the NHL team and their crappy attendance on a weeknight game.

Exactly. I know he's just trying to be a professional and cover both teams equally, but it was really disheartening to hear from the guy who is one of the "voices of the Mariners."

It can be a bit overcrowded at times, but I've found the light rail to be really convenient. Although that doesn't help those living outside the city proper.

Goldsmith is a douche!

I had smoked weed for the first time in like 3 weeks when I watched the last 3 or so innings of the game and it could've been me overthinking it, but I felt like the other guy in the broadcast booth kept making really subtle digs at the Mariners (not that they were undeserved) and Goldsmith just completely ignored it each time. I know he needs to be impartial toward the Mariners when he's doing national broadcasts with Fox, but it would've been nice if he at least stuck up for the Mariners.

I'm curious if anyone else who watched the game noticed that or if it was just me being retarded because weed lowers my IQ by about 50 points.

Well, looks like I'll be able to get some more yard work done today. Gonzo giving up bombs and already 7-0 in the 2nd. M's are really being thoughtful helping the Angels run up their home run count. :L

Panic trade! Dip should’ve waited a month let Bruce get average up then move for solid pick

I wish we would've received more salary relief, but there really isn't much place for him on the team right now. The Mariners are really high on the guy they got in return, not sure that's worth much though.

Holy Shitoly-WTF happened?? I come back in to check the game and it's 12-2? The M's are really outdoing themselves against this mediocre team. This is sucking more than I thought this "rebuild" season would be going. Good lordy. I've seen enough I guess. :gaah:

I can just imagine the spin Servais is gonna put on this one. :L

The light rail isn’t terrible but it is a headache for 90% of Seattle sports fans as they don’t live in Seattle proper and why I dislike the Key Arena renovation. I hate the light rail, but to me, it is more viable option for South Sounders and the folks who live in Snohomish County there in the district the City zones out for heavy traffic than the Seattle Center area. But like I said I am heavily bias against anything related to light rail.
