Does the moneyline have equal payout as betting the spread?

Outcome Odds
UCLA (+9.5) 1/1 (2)
Stanford (-9.5) 1/1 (2)
UCLA (moneyline) 280/100 (3.8)
Stanford (moneyline) 100/340 F (1.29)

I don't understand how the odds payout & what the numbers in parathese mean.... :confused2:

In this example, if you bet 100 on UCLA, you would make 280 profit for your bet......

If you bet 100 on Stanford, well that's a little more complicated........you would get 100 * (100/340)........or approximately 29 profit.

For UCLA (the underdog), you'd have to bet $100 to win $280
For Stanford (the favorite), you'd have to bet $340 to win $100

100 is just a round # to keep it easier. You can use $25 if you wish..ie..

For UCLA (the underdog), you'd have to bet $25 to win $70 (25% of 280)
For Stanford (the favorite), you'd have to bet $85 to win $25 (25% of 340)

so essentially if you are picking the underdog you can make more using the moneyline, but if you are going to pick the favorite, its smarter to use the point spread?

The only times I've ever used moneylines were on MLB or boxing.

Something where point spreads are difficult to make.

Yes......unless you do a big parlay.....

Parlaying a bunch of favorites together on the moneyline can end up making good money at times....

Taking the underdog in MLB on the moneyline is where I have made most of my money gambling to be honest

Tomorrow I lose my eligibility to be a card carrying member of the v-card club

Sir, nonconsensual sex is not the answer........

You don't want to turn 18 and go to prison immediately.....
