not the Pistons...jk...

was kinda thinking it's be a "prove we belong in the playoffs" kind of thing for them. at least that'd be MY look at it if I was them...

course i'm guess the Cavs'll be resting most of their important pieces anyways...

Pretty sure they'll both be resting. They're locked in to playing each other first round.

Yeah nothing to prove for Detroit by having their starters play/beat Cleveland reserves

How about you guys just make our life easy and lose to Washington? Matter of fact since you're locked into HCA in round 1, just rest all the starters

Nothing like getting your reserve and end of bench players some valuable playing time. Amrite?

No way. I feel like you guys will have a much better chance at upsetting Cleveland. It's for the greater good that Miami be the 4th seed.

I honestly wouldn't mind it. I actually think if the Heat were in the Hawks position where they had HCA in round 1 on lock that they would rest their guys because they don't mind playing Cleveland like other teams do. They just don't want to start the first round series away from home.

Cavs bench players will give max effort so it will up their win % without James playing:rolleyes2:

Both Boston and Atlanta are 6.5 point favorites tonight.
Charlotte is 9 point favorite.
So, if all odds hold up, were staring at the 6 seed.

Fuck the odds but I wouldn't mind a series vs Atlanta.

At this point I don't care who we face. Just want to have HCA

I didn't say the odds would determine the outcome.
And I agree, HC is goal 1, but if we're on the road I'd prefer Hawks over Boston/Charlotte.

thats what they were advocating for on the radio on the way back from the courthouse this morning....

personally- i think it all amounts to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Cavs lost 2 games in the entire Eastern Conference Playoffs last year....i highly doubt they lose more than 4 games on their way to the Finals this year- East is better this year so ill go with 4...

hmmm what did i pick the Heat to finish this season? 6th i believe...on the last day of the regular season i just need a couple favorites to come through to have nailed it on the head...

and yes- i do see how close it is...its actually pretty fun to have some meaningful regular season games to watch down the stretch here.

Personally I want the Heat to be the 4th or 5th....however- if you could guarantee me the Heat would make it to the ECF to face the Cavs 3rd or 6th is fine too...i just hope they play at some point....IDEALLY id love to go through Boston and Miami.....or i guess Toronto--- all 3 would be a lot of fun to watch.

How many games you predicted for them to win is much more telling than seed, which can change 4 spots today.
You can't change the fact that you said they'd fall out of the playoffs and be under .500 after Jan/Feb schedule.

I just want to see a Thompson/Whiteside matchup SOOOOO BAD....

We saw last year that Thompson could step up in the playoffs- and I think it would be fair to say that the 2nd best Cav for the entirety of the playoffs last year was Tristan Thompson. Its good to know that he embraces those big moments and can really come through in the clutch. The guy AVERAGED a double double in the Finals last season at 10 pts, 13 boards--- his rebounds in the 6 Finals games -- 15, 14, 13, 13, 10, 13...last 4 games of the Finals he had a double double. In the Eastern Conference Finals he averaged 12 points and 11 boards and drew so many holding calls under the offensive glass that it just totally demoralized the big men on the Hawks. Game 6 clincher against the Bulls in Chicago goes for 13, and 17 and plays hard with great defense.

Lets see what the pressure and spotlight do to Mr. Blancote. It will be fascinating to watch- especially when the road gets a little bumpy- which it always does even for the best of the best- i nteh playoffs.

I KNOW that Tristan Thompson can give you 40 minutes worth of great basketball and help you win a Finals game and dominate the glass. Lets see what Hassan is truly worth over the next couple weeks.
