Howard to LA is pretty much Orlandos only viable option IMO. The Magic want to get young talent back and some picks. If Houston wants Bynum as bad as they seem to then I think its a possibility. As to Kobe not loving Howard I would have to agree but thats not a deal breaker IMO. With the addition of Nash the Lakers will be way better offensively but they still need a big guy to deter the ultra quick PG's in the West from going to the hoop every possession and Howard is light years better than anyone the Lakers have at defense. The trade gains you very little offensively as LA but it makes you way better defensively.

If Howard is not traded, that opens the door for quite a few teams, like the Spurs and Mavs, who will both have the cap space to sign him outright.

Lopez is inconsequential, because Orlando doesn't want him.

Because they are a fuck ton of perimeter players that can score. Its very rare to have a big man who isn't a total stiff who can rebound, defend and be a low post threat. Big men take years to develop. So Big men that even have a bit of promise will get signed.
