Yeah, I've never understood the yankee (term used loosely to refer to all non-south regions) dislike for grits. It's just like "breakfast rice" in my opinion. Mild flavor of its own, serving as a base for whatever flavor you want to add. Texture is just like oatmeal or whatever, soft and warm.

I don't understand it either, but I can grits with any freakin meal and if you add cheese to them, i'll just eat that by itself.
