Honestly, when was the last time any Braves excelled in the postseason? We haven't won a postseason series in over a decade if I'm not mistaken

We had players excell last season. Dansby, Ozzie and Acuna hit great, and Soroka only got one start, but it was a great start. Folty also had a great start, probably our best starter's performance in a playoff game since Smoltz, but nobody will remember that one after what happened in game 5.

Crying shame they were unable to cash in on a rare hit by FFF with a runner on base.

You can't be the face of a franchise and disappear in the playoffs like that. Game 4. Ronald Acuna hits a leadoff triple. Albies hits a sharp grounder on a drawn in infield, Acuna probably scores if he runs because it was bobbled, but no need to risk it with Freddie coming up. Surely he can hit a fly ball to extend the lead and end the series right here, right? Nope, he struck out. You can't strike out in that spot ever. If your elbow is hurting that bad, put the squeeze down, but don't strike out.

Maybe today's players should listen to Hank. 755 home runs in his career and he focused on putting the ball in play. Nut the fuck up, pussies, stop striking out so damn much.

Fair enough, but it just goes to show it can't and won't always come down to 1 player. It's still a team sport. And no one seems to remember the season Freddie had. Without him we don't make the playoffs

5.6 WAR, so if he's replaced with a replacement level player, we'd have won 91 or 92 games and got to the second wild card, and we owned the Nats last season.

I’d be cool moving Dansby to 3-4 spot right now.

It's baseball, strikeouts happen. Runs get walked in. This is a sport where the greatest hitters of all time fail 70% of the time at the plate.

The one good thing about having Nick back is we know he won’t strikeout

When those strikeouts happen is important. That can't be stranded there in that situation ever, especially if you're the face of the franchise.

Who won the World Series. Who were playing good baseball going into the postseason. We were not playing good baseball going into the postseason.

We were playing good baseball until we clinched and Snit packed it in the last week and took us all out of rhythm. If he doesn’t we would have easily won100 games

A strikeout is never good no matter when it occurs. It can't be? It happens a lot. It happens to every team. Freddie failed. The Braves as a team failed. They flat out got embarrassed but lesser team. It happens to every team. Every great player has failed.

I mean if Folty doesn't throw batting practice in game 5 we might be having a different conversation

So we got outplayed. Out-coached. Out-pitched. Hell how many times have you seen Bama lose to a team we shouldn't have lost to because we shot ourselves in the foot. This is a team sport, Freddie contributed to the losses but he wasn't the sole cause.

Soroka should've pitched game 5 and I don't remember a single Braves fan saying otherwise

I'm saying if Freddie hits a lazy flyball to center field, we were at the very least playing for a World Series. He struck out and went 4-20 during the series. When you get paid as much as he does, and when you're the face of the franchise, you're gonna get criticism, and you're gonna deserve it.

I've been through 2nd and 26 and 28-3, and that NLDS last season was harder to swallow than both of them.

I agree. Snit was shit in that series too and blew Game1 because he loves his boyfriend Luke Jackson too much.

Freddie blew Game 4

I miss Kelsey Wingart.
