It's most likely going to be the same ole story for illinios though, they're always good until they get into conference play. They beat some good teams early last season and then collapsed.

Yup, unless you're reviewing their 2004-05 team. They were sick.

Iowa pissed that one down the pant leg, Michigan style. The Hawks should have closed that out (a lot of shots not dropping for Iowa in the final minutes to end the Iowa St. 8-0 run, adding insult to injury). But like you said, The Cyclones are very hard to beat in Ames....especially when they've got a good team.

Not a big deal though and Iowa will bounce back stronger.

Yeah a frustrating loss, VERY reminiscient of the Nova game we lost earlier this year. Blow a big lead, miss key FTs at the end to lose. Realistically we should be 12-0 right now and a top 10 team but 10-2 is right where I thought we'd be so no huge complaints from me. If anything I am more encouraged by the teams play so far than I am discouraged ( aside from the late misses on FTs ). This team has basically domianted 2 VERY good teams for large portions of a neutral site and a road game. There may only be 3-4 other teams in the B10 at level of ISU and Nove so I think a 12-6/13-5 type finish is entirely plauisible for Iowa which should give us a top 4 type seed.

Iowa's got, imo, the toughest B1G schedule - doubling up with WIS, MSU, OSU and MICH (also MINN and ILL - neither of which is a slouch team).

BAB is 'penciling-in' the OSU/WIS 01FEB game...Should be excellent stuff.
I'm looking forward to the IOWA/WIS 05JAN game even more.

For sure. IMO thats good though. Right now we have an RPI in the mid 20 to low 30's depending on which site you look at. If we can can get through those 12 games at 7-5/6-6 and take care of the other 6 games we SHOULD win thatd leave us at 12-6/13-5 in league and our SOS will be sky high so RPI should be rock solid. MUCH better than last year where we didnt have as many shots at quality wins.

considering his summer, this isn't unexpected news...

just saw that Michigan's Mitch McGary is gone...scheduling back surgery...sad stuff for him and the program. Wishing the best for the kid (continue playing or not, that Diploma's pure gold).

Big time bummer. Hopefully this is not a career ending injury and he decides to come back for his junior season...and maybe talks GR3 into the same thing. It's time for the vets (Morgan and Horford) to step up.
