Not sure why everyone wants him so bad. He wants a head coaching job. If he came here, the second he has success, he's gone.
-------
If you take a long hard look at his resume especially the first time he was at USC as head recruiter, that's the era that the Trojans were on their "streak". I'd take him for just his recruiting efforts alone no matter how long he stays here.

I thought about this also, however it's probable EO would runoff before signing day thus any recruits he did rustle up would as well

Nothing against Orgeron but a long hard look by me shows a recruiter at a major school on the west coast, in a metropolitan area any kid would kill to go to school at, and in the middle of a recruiting hot bed, in the middle of a win streak.

Not really the same as talking an 18 year old 4 star in California in to coming to Nebraska.

I think 472 is thinking he'd bring in at least a couple of classes before taking a bigger gig.

I'm on the fence w/EO. He reminds me of Blake in that he'd potentially push the recruiting rules and get Nebraska put on probation.

I am a bit confused on this Andy Vaughn hire. I guess he is the Recruiting Coordinator.

What is Ryan Gunderson doing then? Main hand holder? What the bajeebers are these jobs they have.

Here is an old Reno joke(I learned this in my two years of living in Reno)

How do you know that Reno is close to Hell? Because you can see Sparks.

Hey I stayed in Sparks at the Nugget. Lots of real short people there on the weekend speaking something similar to Chinese.

Hey I stayed in Sparks at the Nugget. Lots of real short people there on the weekend speaking something similar to Chinese.

When I lived there, I gambled at John Ascuaga's Nugget, Karl's Silver Club, and Peppermill all of those were in Sparks, Nevada.

I also learned how to play craps at a club in downtown Reno, but I forget the name of the casino. We could play .25 craps. For 20 bucks we gambled a long time, and had quite a few beers. If we wanted girls we went to the Peppermill in Reno, not Sparks. Paul Revere and the Raiders were the FREE casino band at one of the Reno Casinos. Even though they were before more time, I knew who they were.

The people you were with were either Chinese or Hawaiians, they both LOVE to gamble. And they know how to gamble, they don't just throw chips out willy nilly.

In Las Vegas you can go to the California Club(downtown) and play with a whole bunch of Hawaiians. That is my favorite place to play craps. On the strip you can play craps for 10 bucks or 25 bucks, at the Cal it is 5 bucks. Plus, the Cal dealers are friendly, quite a few of the strip dealers are just there for a paycheck and won't be there the next time you go. The Cal dealers have been there for years.

The Chinese(usually high rollers) that go to Vegas love to play Baccarat. There will be the occasional one that comes and rolls craps(they will usually come in a group of four).

Arent todays rules that you dont have to have Asst Coaches as the sole recruiters? I thought the NCAA recently allowed basicly every university to spend whatever they want on as many people as they want to support recruiting. Bo only hired like 1 or maybe it was 2 extra and still had a coach be the RC. Maybe Riley is going to have that much bigger stafff.

Do you know what Aaryn Kearney and Austen Everson did on the old staff? They'll do those jobs.

Never heard of them, but that sort of explains some things. Obviously, a lot more behind the scenes staff.

Yep. There's tons of people that aren't coaches that are on staff. Word is between the secretaries, recruiting office, and video office, they are only keeping 4. That's a lot of people that were let go last week.

BRUTAL. I never knew that a coaching staff change would affect the back room staff like that. That really sucks for those people. Really, really sucks. I doubt they are highly compensated or gauranteed one year of pay like the coaches were/are.

Yeah those are the people I feel bad for. The coaches will be fine because of their contracts. Those guys not so much.
