Pelini and his inexperienced cronies won at least 9 games and lost exactly 4 games. I now have much higher expectations of this staff. Ten wins minimum, plus Hilary.

Doesn't sound too out of whack. Except the last part....

So the point you are trying to make is that you think you know who should be hired better than someone who has been coaching football since 1975? :bullshit:

That's a one-way argument oak. Do we as fans when we see that osu got a lot of yards put on them consistently, that we expected riley to go looking for a better dc? I don't think that's unreasonable or makes us ignorant. The osu staff was bought with what little resources osu had to get them. Surely with better resources here, Riley could land a better DC than Banker, couldn't he?

I think that's way too narrow of a viewpoint, same as the people who are whining about Riley being 5-7 last year. You really think Oregon State has the athletes to keep an offense like Oregon's under wraps? No shit, they gave up a lot of yards consistently.

That said, if you look at the results from comparable games the past couple years between Nebraska and Oregon State (UCLA, Wisconsin) which team would you think got more yards and points put on them?

Rooskie, some people here just can't see that it's riskier to have assistants who haven't been that good performance wise, as opposed to bringing in assistants who have shown some REAL success. Banker may be slightly better than pap was, but this is Nebraska, and Bo was fired because his performance and his staff's performance was below Nebraska standards.

I guess we'll find out soon enough how good Riley and his staff will be.

We will for sure. That's the thing...none of us have any idea how this is gonna play out, so I don't really see the point of crucifying the staff before the staff has even been announced. It'll be a LONG 9 months until the season opener if we are just gonna bitch about the staff the whole time.

I have patience, there's a spring and summer to enjoy first that I don't want to miss out on.

As a Nebraska fan who cares about that program, I really do have a right to be concerned about who is assistants will be. It's obvious that we'll have to live by Riley, and anyone who says they aren't concerned by what is transpiring with his staff selection, is either blindly faithful, or wants to remain hopeful.
-------
Don't see where concern falls into the picture at least right now. It's out of our hands. Concern takes place after the season starts if then. Riley could hire Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs as his assistants but we won't know if they work till next fall. Grousing now proves/does/shows nothing.

I can guarantee you Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs wouldn't do well here!
