Get paid for your autograph get a half... USC should get back all the shit from the Reggie Bush era... Michigan should get its shit back from the fab five era... Etc...

That is a lot different. Taking money to affect a big game.

Proof or it didn't happen. Which is why he is only suspended of a half. No one could prove it. NCAA concluded that he didn't get paid therefore they are closing the book on it. The university is suspending him for violating bylaw 12.5.2.2 by signing a shit load of merch knowing that it's possible that someone else might make money off of it.

Not exactly... I would agree if those 5 games weren't until AFTER the bowl when the players were going to declare for the NFL.

If that's an NCAA violation we should just make every recognizable NCAA player sit out the first half of their games. Everyone signs autographs, the higher profile athletes sign more stuff. We've all seen crowds of people huddled around athletes, you'd have to assume someone else might sell it. I have a Willie Parker autograph, could've gotten a Julius Peppers autograph, etc. I could've made money off of it and they had to know someone they signed autographs for could've profited.

there is a huge difference. Signing jersey for a kid at practice is legit. Signing 4k for memorabilia dealers is not. I really though the NCAA would duck this and suspend him for 2 games. This ruling is the most ridiculous of all the rulings. No punishment would have been easier to understand.

The NCAA did throw the book at him. They had him sign every page of the NCAA by-laws and in 100 copies of the by-laws to acknowledge that he understands the rules. You can go to the NCAA website and purchase a copy.

Pretty sure everyone knows what happened. What an organization lacking subpoena power can prove is quite different. I never thought they would suspend him for the Bama game. I always thought the NCAA changed its reasoning on the Cam Newton case in order to preserve a marquee match-up in the NC game. A&M and Bama is the biggest hyped game of the preseason. NCAA was not going to pull him from that. I did not expect the NCAA to make a mockery of itself, which in hindsight seems stupid given their track record.

Not sure I buy that. Oregon received a joke of a punishment. It is not just he SEC. The NCAA has made it clear. It is more concerned with your cooperation than with your violations.

The major schools and conferences should break away from the NCAA. The NCAA has no love for my school and have proven through past actions that they do not require proof in order to punish.
