Get jumped by the hot Brewers, and lose a game on the Cubs. Now 2.5 out of the WC slot, meanwhile the Brewers are just 2 games out.

Nationals won and their lead remains 2.5 games in control on the 1st WC slot.

Cubs reliever (Cishek) gave up a 1 out single...and then he allowed b2b2b walks. The last one on 4 straight pitches w/ the bases loaded.

My Mets are now only 3 GB for the 2nd WC spot.

Pretty sure LA is already thinking about resting some of their starters & everyday players to keep them fresh for the post season.

I think it'll more than likely come down to the Mets' final weekend series against Atlanta.

FTR.....even if the doyers did manage to come in and sweep this weekend, the Mets will still have 13 to play...and depending what the few other teams in the WC hunt do in their own games the rest of the way, the mets would still have a legit shot to get that 2nd WC spot..but it would definitely make it more difficult.
