It’s now late August and it’s crunch time.

I’d say right now the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros are the only locks for the playoffs right now.

Both Wild Card races, the NL Central, the AL Central and the NL East all are gonna be interesting to watch

The AL Central has been decided. The Indians are winning it.

If we're going with predictions, I'd go with Dodgers, Braves, Cubs, Nationals and Cardinals in order in the NL. Yankees, Astros, Indians, Twins and A's in the AL.

I think there is a great chance the A's and Rays make it over the tribe

I don't know, the Twins just won't go away.

We're going to see a lot of bad pitchers the rest of the way and we have a tendency to make them look like Cy Young candidates and our offense is going to have a hard time continuing to outhit our bullpen. We'll be fortunate if we hold on to a wild card, and I think we'll have a hard time doing that.

I think the Braves are a lock for the playoffs even though the division isn't over. 2nd best record in the NL by a pretty comfortable margin.

Twins have a pretty tough stretch coming up (9/3-9/15)

3 @ BOS
3 vs CLE
3 vs WAS
3 @ CLE

After that, they finish with the White Sox/Royals/Tigers.

so 12 games vs teams with winning record and 26 vs the crap that is the rest of the ALC
meanwhile injuns have 18 vs winning teams and 19 vs the ALC crap:suds:

as for the WC should be good fight oak vs tb

oak has 13 vs winners (above .500)and 24 vs losers (below .500)
tb has 14 vs winners and 23 vs losers

After 2011, I won’t say we’re a lock until the magic number is 0

I’m pretty confident the Twins are at least getting in.

Would take quite a bit to be passed by Cleveland, Tampa and Oakland considering how many games we have vs White Sox m, Tigers and Royals.

The 12 game stretch vs Boston, Cleveland and Wash will probably decide a lot for us division and WC wise.

I'm concerned about the Braves keeping a firm grip on the NL East. 4 of the 8 starting regulars out, and it doesn't look short term.

At least they can see what Alex Jackson is capable of though he's had plate discipline issues in the minors. I didn't realize he moved over to catcher.

We got a little taste of him early in the season. From what I’ve read he’s an excellent defensive catcher, but is pretty much all or nothing at the plate, which sounds like an upgrade over Tyler Flowers
