Yep you are fucking stupid you only beat bottom feeders like the Marlins. When you get smoked by the Mets this weekend I don't want to hear you crying.

What happens if the A's, Tribe, and Rays all finish with the same record?

What happens if the A's, Tribe, and Rays all finish with the same record?

Scenario: Three teams tie for two Wild Card spots

If the Indians, Rays and A’s were all tied, the three teams would choose/receive A, B and C designations. Club A would host Club B to decide who would host Club C in the AL Wild Card Game on Oct. 2.

Again, the three designations are decided by head-to-head records. The A’s went 9-4 against the Rays and Indians, the Rays went 9-5 against the A’s and Indians, and the Indians went 2-11 against the A’s and Rays. So the A’s would have first pick of designation and the Rays second.

The link is to the MLB website page I pulled the information from about the potential tiebreakers.

Diamondbacks quietly playing good baseball. They're third in the NL Wild Card race. They've been playing pretty damn good since they traded that nutjob, Greinke away.

I'd be fine if they told the Indians, "tough titty said the kitty, but the milk's still good." You go 2-11 vs your main competition, you should be the odd man out if it ends tied up.

Indians have no business getting to play in that scenario.

And I understand the argument of "If you're 2-11 vs your competition, but finish with the same record, who's really the better team?" But in this case, the Indians have arguably the two worst teams in baseball in their division, along with the White Sox, who are still rebuilding.

Phillies are 72-67 after 139 games.

They were 73-66 after 139 games last season, and both years they've rocked a negative run differential.

That stupid money really didn't pay off. Maybe Kapler really is the problem? But I have a feeling they get Gerrit Cole in the offseason.

It’s Bryce Harper IMO. He ain’t a leader. I find it odd that he was on the gNats and they underperformed every other year and then you put him on the Phillies and they underperform while the gNats probably have one of their better seasons.

At least it's every other year and not every year - I hope. They also really need some more depth. A guy like Cole would be great. This year they got 3 good relievers on the dl so now they're stuck with Nola and a bunch of starters that only go 5 innings a lot of games.

Does it really matter? It's the Yanks and Astros then everyone else. Those 3 teams are likely screwed whether they get in or not

Anything can happen in the playoffs. If the A's get past the WCG, I wouldn't be surprised to see them knock off the Yankees or Astros in the ALDS.

And the Dodgers are the prohibitive favorites in the NL, but would it shock anyone if the Nats took them out in the NLDS?

It may seem stupid on the surface but they are definitely better with Harper than without him. And this year just staying on the fringe of the playoff race they are still outdrawing all the other NL East teams. If they break through and go deep into the playoffs next year they will probably sell out every game in 2021. So maybe it's not that stupid. Plus it's not my money so......

I'm absolutely shitting myself right now. We were 5 games out of the WC slot, and this morning we are just 1.5 games. We are something like 14-1 in our last 15, which is unreal.

We probably won't make it, but damnit I'm happy to be in the mix.

Meanwhile, my hometown Braves are also on a roll, and look to have wrapped up the division.

Pretty sure that loss was a 9th inning Bellinger homer to tie the game too
