Nebraska gets their first test of the season tomorrow night against Dayton.

They are a preseason pick for the NCAA Tourney and are a 5 point favorite against us tomorrow.

Interesting statistics.

Of 351 teams, Nebraska has had the 5th toughest schedule in the country thus far. After we play Indiana and Maryland on the road to the start B1G play we might have the #1 ranked schedule in the country.

Even with our 5 loss record, Sagarin still has Nebraska ranked #82. The Dayton win gives Nebraska just a little bit to build off of as they're a top 50 opponent and thus a quality win.

Nebraska still needs to get to 10 wins in Conference play, but while I was pretty hard on this team and especially the staff, it probably isn't as bad as it seems. There is still an opportunity to reach post season play.

I am not going to lie last season was really hard to watch. And this season just seems like a train wreck bound to happen. I wish this team all the luck in the world and I will still watch but it is going to be hard to put wins together.

when i watched them against KU over the weekend, it didn't look all that bad. they played hard and didn't give up. i felt like they hung with that team even though they were clearly out manned and had 3 zebras working against them. if Jacobsen could make some shots that game would have been a lot closer.

I heard last night on ESPN that we were No 1 in SoS. maybe that was power 5 conferences?

Well on Saturday the refs were against us because we were playing a Self-coached KU team at Allen Fieldhouse...

it could be both. i was just really upset that i watched 2 KU guys give stiff arms to defenders, once to clear the defender off for an open shot and the second was in the post to receive an entry pass for an easy bucket. then at the top of the key Jacobsen did the same thing to get a pass and they call the damn foul. didn't make any sense, i thought both of the KU guys should have been called for fouls.

I see lots of potential but also see a lot of disjointed offensive sets. Seems like Watson will see a lane a lot of times but it gets cut off by a second defender and instead of getting the ball to the guy that the second defender just left, (usually a big man 5 ft from the hoop) he backs it out to reset the play with 15 seconds or less on the shot clock or he takes a contested jump shot.

Also Gil and McVeigh need to quit being chickenshit and take the shot. They are out there for 1 reason and if they are too afraid to do it, they are useless. I understand they are cold as of late, but step up with some fucking confidence and contribute.

Defensively, we look pretty decent. Active hands, good feet. We get out matched down low at times, but not as bad as previous years.

Jacobson somehow got worse from last season to this season.

This is one of the worst all around efforts I've seen from the Huskers in the last few seasons.
