so no Love, Alridge, Monroe, Gasol, ----down to DeAndre Jordan and Robin Lopez.....though it seems Lopez is going to the Knicks and DeAndre is going to the Mavs or staying at the Clips....Lakers already lost Ed Davis aswell.....I wonder what their next move is.

Unless they work a trade for Cousins, it's likely re-sign Hill and some 1 year guys, give the young core a year to show what they've got and then go after max FA's next year when the cap goes up and Kobe's contract is off the books.

Lakers are doing exactly what I expected. The went for guys like Aldridge, Jordan and Monroe but failed to recruit them. No biggie! I don't blame the players as they want to win now. At least the front office went after these guys immediately showing their willingness.

We have a shitload of youth in the team that just needs to develop. If all goes to plan, Russell and Clarkson will be one of the deadliest backcourt pair in the league and Randle will be a solid double-double guy in the paint.

I'll be happy to wait. I've seen the Lakers win 10 NBA champions as a fan - probably more than any other fan can say.

The future is looking bright!

Aldridge is almost 30, Shane.....you may think it's funny but I want a younger big man like Monroe (before he signed with the Bucks) or Cousins.

I'm pretty content throwing out Kobe, Russell, Clarkson and Randle.

But, if we have a shot we have to trade Russell (and another asset or get a 3rd team involved) to get Cousins. He's a legit center and arguably the best one in the league.

:L
Why rush? Just see how he does, even with Cousins the Lakers arent going anywhere this year.

seriously- when every single team in the league has cap room next summer and are fighting over a handful of guys the Cavs will have their team.

In other words, when all of the other teams are getting better, the Cavs will be standing pat and Lebron will be getting older.

Just waiting for another FA class. Cousins isnt worth giving up Russell. He is 19

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'd like Hill coming back at a cheaper price than 9 million if we can't get Cousins. Upshaw looks like a sleeper for a big that didn't get drafted. Maybe, we can release Sacre? Or trade him to the Clipps?

Not a chance in hell. Russell is projected to be a superstar. I'd rather wait 3, 4, 5 years for that to happen than to give him to the queens.

I think either the Heat or Pacers are playing the Cavs is the ECF.

Pacers? Not a chance. Heat maybe… depends on the health of Wade Deng & Bosh. If they are all 100 percent in the playoffs along with Dragic-Whiteside-Winslow, etc. they could also be a factor in the East. Still not good enough to reach the Finals though.

Clarkson, Russell, and Randle will be a promising trio for a max guy to come in and say, "I'm the missing piece, let's do this!!!!"

Russell is unproven and Boogie is the best center in the league and still just 25.

HE IS 19. You havent given him one game and if he becomes a star, that would be a huge mistake.

Looks like the Pacers could lose Hibbert and West, plus Stuckey. They need bigs, but they did get Turner in the draft.

Hill
Monta
George
Scola
Mahinmi/Turner

really good 1,2,3.

Cousins IS a star. Russell is an unproven rookie, you always take the best player available. And after how the Lakers have fucked off this free agency we need a marque player.

Well said!

Well the Cavs did the same thing trading Wiggins for Love LOL
But that made the Cavs contenders. It wont make the Lakers contenders yet, since Kobe is about to retire

Not in the Lakers current situation. They arent contenders, even with Cousins.
