4 year, 80 million?????

That cannot possibly be correct for Thompson.

That is starting to look like a Juwan Howard type ridiculous deal.

I think there might be more years and less money.....

Or Cleveland lost their collective minds

I certainly am no Lakers off season expert, but my best guess is that they figured they had a better chance in FA to sign a big vs elite PG, all tings being equal, because they knew Dragic wasn't coming.

If they felt Russell was the clear, better player, then of course you take him.
I agree, I think they thought signing a Big man would be easier. Only option left is Jordan or Monroe

Nope. He's already said he's not going to take any discounts anymore. They're saying that Gilbert's luxury tax burden's going to be $70-$80 million.

Ok, fine. Fuck Gilbert lol

Im hearing a lot more when everything is said and done. 3 max players and 1 almost max player. ESPN is reporting 200-250 mill over all he will have to pay. Cavs will pass Nets as biggest payroll in the history of the NBA.

And that's the result of last summers version of Snakes On A Plane.

Butler can guard James, he could not guard the other four guys on the court that he forced Lebron to pass to who hit wide open 3's. It used to be based on D, but Garpax has gone and filled the roster with offensive players.

I think Butler takes the 4.5 so he can walk anywhere he wants next year.

That's why Wes would be huge. He can throw down and guard Kyrie/Lebron as well.

God damn, that's a huge luxury tax.

They woudn't anyway. They're using the bird rights to get Love and TT. If they didn't sign them... they wouldn't have much to get anyone anyways. They're actual contract numbers have zero effect on who they can get this year (other than the effect on luxury tax)

They have the Haywood contract to move.. but that's about it.

I hope they can get some good pieces from this Haywood deal. A shooter or young guy and a solid backup PG

nope Butler taking the 5 year deal. 5th year a players option.

I know I'm saying that's why Wes would be big.

He can legit help Jimmy in guarding those two guys.

Whooaa......

If the Suns pull this off they'll not only land 2 quality players but they'll screw the Spurs over at the same time... something every Suns fan dreams about.
