With Lebron getting most likely a huge contract next year, he should take a big paycut so then sign others. LOL

Well, I guess all of them getting max deals is more important than putting together a team that can compete for a title.

Geez. They wont have any money for role players lol

They woudn't anyway. They're using the bird rights to get Love and TT. If they didn't sign them... they wouldn't have much to get anyone anyways. They're actual contract numbers have zero effect on who they can get this year (other than the effect on luxury tax)

They have the Haywood contract to move.. but that's about it.

Cavs need to trade Varajeo and Haywood. It would free $20 mil. I think it is the way to go.

Nope. He's already said he's not going to take any discounts anymore. They're saying that Gilbert's luxury tax burden's going to be $70-$80 million.

That Tristan Thompson deal is an idiotic albatross deal.

Maybe the details are wrong...but what are the Cavs thinking by paying their 4th best player and sometimes starter that kind of money.

cavs signing Love and Thompson to big money. Cavs will be the most expensive NBA team ever with Tax. might hit 250 mill espn is reporting. Not 100% yet.

I don't think it is in this case. They liked Russell better. Drafting Russell certainly influences their direction in FA, but no way did the front office believe signing Aldridge was guaranteed. Consider the source of the tweet.

I certainly am no Lakers off season expert, but my best guess is that they figured they had a better chance in FA to sign a big vs elite PG, all tings being equal, because they knew Dragic wasn't coming.

If they felt Russell was the clear, better player, then of course you take him.

Im hearing a lot more when everything is said and done. 3 max players and 1 almost max player. ESPN is reporting 200-250 mill over all he will have to pay. Cavs will pass Nets as biggest payroll in the history of the NBA.
