Not really. Young athlete's coming back from injuries use summer league as a time to get in shape.

OMG! What a freaking genious Dan Gilbert is. He's going to spend over $200 million dollars this upcoming season for a roster that's worth half that. All you Lakers and Heat fans are jealous of the current reign that the Cavs have as we have all of our participation trophies and were just in the Finals last season.

LeBron James should not be allowed to run a team. Pat Riley wouldn't allow it, Dan Gilbert appears to be willing. Tristan Thompson at near max money is just insane. I like the kid. Love his rebounding. But near max money is suicidal. I love what Miami has done this off season with Gerald Green/ Winslow/ and Amar'e. Cleveland just seems to be putting themselves in salary cap hell. I wonder if Dan Gilbert regrets wanting the luxury tax to be so punitive these days.

Absolutely can't wait to see how the Spurs are going to be this season, man. All they gotta do now is add a replacement for Belinelli and they should be solid. My pick for winners of this offseason. Call me biased, but I can't think of who else has had a better one.

* see Brooklyn Nets

I mean, they look great on paper and are a lock to make the ECF, sans injury.

But,.....the Spurs:eek:

Scariest part of all this is the fact that San Antonio will have the money for another Max contract next Summer.

Won't the Cavs be in the red?

Yes. It's been mentioned multiple times on this forum to Cavs fans who don't buy the math...more particularly Wiggy.

Man I was happy with Portis 1st game. Kid looks like he will be a steal. This might open the door to trade Gibson.
The Bulls are excellent drafters. They got Taj, Butler, and Mirotic late in drafts. They basically built this current team that is a contender through the draft. The only significant players they didn't draft were Gasol, Brooks, and MDJ. That is why I am optimistic about Portis. I expect him to be good in the summer league, but summer league success shouldn't be the reason you are optimistic. Thabo Sefolosha looked like Scottie Pippen in the summer league. Adam Morrison looked like Larry Bird in the summer league. Portis might be a good player, I think he'll be excellent once he puts on some weight and gets acclimated to the league. However, you have to remember that he is 5th on the depth chart behind the likes of Noah, Gasol, Taj, and Mirotic.

I hope the front office trades Noah and Taj for a good 3 and d wing, but I doubt it happens and Portis will probably rot on the bench.

Caron Butler to the Kings? Maybe we can get Jerry Stackhouse to come back to the NBA. Jeez, this team is going to stink again.
They may stink but it could be the only team in the league receiving Social Security payments. :D

I'm just not sure if Kanter's really worth that kind of cash, but they gotta do something to keep KD from bailing next offseason.

OKC offered him pretty good money also so don't think they mind giving him an extra 7 or 8 mill

It's going to be a heated rivalry next year between Miami and Cleveland. I see a prime time Christmas match up in the making.

A playoff series would be amazing with both teams healthy.

I heard that a lot last year as well after the Dragic trade.

We know the Cavs will be there. Lets see if the Heat can keep up their end of the bargain this time.

That would be an EXTREMELY fun (and gratifying) series to watch as a Cavs fan- and basketball fan in general.

Certainly not for his defense.
if he ends up being the piece that pushes OKC over the top he is worth it--- especially if it gets Durant to stay.

gotta say, OKC is right there with SAS and OKC in the West- and right now if Durant and RW stay healthy I gotta pick OKC to come out of the West.

Of course no Russy W. He's too far up Gilbert's back side to see anything coming!

You guys are just jealous haters who don't realize that the Cavs are set up to win championships for the next 20 years. We are about to witness a Cavs dynasty.
while 20 years is a TAD bit out of LeBron's range- if you substitute next 5-6 years you would be right...
