Hell, no.

We have Austin Rivers and Crawford can play point in a pinch.

The Clippers are gonna be in dire need of a backup, or replacement, for Jordan.

But, I wouldn't want it to be Birdman.

Ps. The Clippers have no picks.

I didn't know this. Chalmers has also been thrusted into the 2 guard spot as well, as you'd have a steady guard rotation on your bench. I like Birdman, but if it helps keep Wade, then I'm okay with seeing him leave.

Cowherd replayed a clip from an interview with Coach K earlier in the year.

Talking about Okafor... Coach K said something along the lines of "He needs to develop an even better work ethic cause he's playing with the big boys now".

That would really worry me as a prospective employer - given that this guy is gonna be a top 5 pick.

Coach K softened the statement by adding the word "even"... but the fact that he is suggesting that he needs an improved work ethic is a bad sign, IMO.

I would argue that his work ethic has to be pretty strong considering the depth and strength of his low post game. At his age, there had to be a lot of hard work put in to get to that point. He's been putting serious work in these recent weeks up in Santa Barbara and is in way better shape than when he was last seen winning the national championship. From what I've seen of his game though, he has a lot of work to do on defense.

Crawford could be moved. That's Doc's only real trade chip. Crawford and Wilcox for Wilson Chandler has been rumored.

I'm curious how much Doc is going to pay his son.

My initial take is that the Lakers are the huge winner in this deal

Sounds like Robbery on the part of the Lakers... depending on what "other picks" means.

Why?

Can it get any worse than it is right now?

1. I actually think the team is getting better and if they make smart moves this offseason can be close to a playoff spot.
2. The only way it could get worse is trading their best player and arguably the best center in the NBA to the fucking Lakers.

Wow, that's a HUGE deal for the Lakers. They would get Cousins, keep Randle and still have the #6 pick to go for Mudiay or Winslow

So the Kings move up 1 spot in the lottery, get an inferior center, and some "other" picks? The Kings should laugh at that and say hell no.

That would be huge for the Lakers. If Russell doesnt go at #3 it would be definitely a huge winner, if he does they still can get Winslow or Mudiay.

Mudiay
Kobe
Johnson?
Randle
Cousins

or

Clarkson
Kobe
Winslow
Randle
Cousins

Of course, they could still make some more moves. Not bad.

Cousins and the 6th? Plus holding on to Randle/Clarkson? :hope:

Go ahead and give up those "other picks" this year Mitch to get this done.

They should unless there a lot of "other" picks. I don't think the Lakers can give up a 1st rounder until 2019. 2016 likely goes to Philly and then 2017 to Orlando. They have to keep the 2018 pick.

Big market teams/desireable cities often create highway robbery.

The Lakers suck years are quickly drawing to an end.

A move like this would likely put them right back in the big picture as soon as 2016.

I don't think James would ever have the mindset to try to fight through the West every year, but if the Lakers get Cousins plus get to keep their well earned draft picks, that roster would be younger and better then the Cavs.

I like Chalmers.

But, with Redick, Crawford, Stephenson, Paul, Rivers...there are not any minutes.

The lakers would have to be giving up some picks in this move, and I don't see how first round picks in 2019 or 2020(from a team who by then will have signed 1 or 2 star FA's and won't have kobe which means they should be better) or any 2nd round picks makes up for the drop going from Cousins to Vucevic.
