BTW...

The Cavs big money is going to 3 guys they drafted and 1 guy they traded a draft pick for.
Irving and Thompson. Love was a trade and LBJ came back through free agency. Also traded for Iman, Moz and Jr(who wont be around). u have 2-3 bench players making 10+ mill That is unheard of. Oh yeah u got Irving and Thompson because LBJ left u hanging the 1st time. Please just stop u are looking bad man.

What's his reg season average on blocks? Don't worry, we'll wait.

All four years.. he's hovered right around 1/4 of a block a game. Nothing to brag about, but not horrible for his position, either.

every team is trying to build a championship team and every team wants to win.

Ok, cool, so we agree. The Cavs aren't the only team trying to turn money into a winning championship team.

Ok, cool. Agreed. No one knows what would've happened either way. Warriors won the title... Cavs lost.

I mean, the Cavs fought through some serious adversity and impressed me with how far they were able to go. Their challenges don't have to take away at all from what the Warriors accomplished, though. They had their own battles and adversity to fight through.
I also give Credit to the Cavs. LBJ came out of the gates firing and just faded away and lost his jump shot but overall I do give Cavs credit. They came together as a team and they never gave up. It was impressive but not crazy impressive like some think. Have to remember they came out of the East. Only team that any body thought could beat the Cavs were the Bulls. I had Cavs winning 4-1 to Atlanta. I had them at 4-0 against Boston. In my basketball pool I had Cavs winning 4-3 but my heart told me Bulls could of pulled it off. They almost did and then Gasol went down. U want to mention Love was out but Cavs has 6-8 days to prep for that. bulls had 1 day of practice to prep for it. Irving played every game and got hurt in 1 game where he only played 12 min. Gasol missed 2 games and missed 1/2 game where they were wining by 12points. He goes down and LBJ hits a buzzer beater. Im not saying 100% Bulls would of won but like I said I liked our chances.

Cavs are the only team going over board buying buying a championship. Im sorry u spend that much u are buying. Again name 7-10 teams that are spending the same amount? I will wait for an answer............

1) Please show me all of the teams out there that don't have any players acquired through FA or Trades... I'll wait. The Cavs have more homegrown players than most teams. (especially among the good teams)

2) Who care's how teams get their players?! I have no problem with criticizing the merits of a strategy(aka, "The Cavs shouldn't spend this money because they lose flexibility and won't be able to make moves next off-season"). But to declare that one way is somehow morally, or ethically, superior... that one way is the "right" way and another is the "wrong" way is just complete and utter nonsense.

These owners are running a business. They are all doing what they think is the best thing for them to do to make money.

Of course every single team is trying to buy a championship. Its sort of the whole point.

There are different strategies and methods to try to get to that end... but the bottom line is you have a league full of owners... paying people that are good at basketball... trying to construct a team that can make them money.

The how "built vs bought" thing is the biggest bunch of garbage ever.
dont you find it hilarious how all these guys are trying to tear down the Cavs? It cracks me up - anyone of them would be over the moon to have their team be in the Cavs situation....you just gotta remember that the favorite always has a target on his back- and a lot of teams dont have much to root for...

ouch.... well, believe it or not... Kyrie had 11 blocks in his 13 playoff games this seasons.

Just think what he might have had if he could have made it through 1 OT and 6 more?

I agree with this. I wrote the Cavs off after Love got hurt. I figured the Bulls were looking ahead to the next series when they were playing the Bucks, but they the Cavs handled that series. Then they dismantled the Hawks as if they were the 8 seed. Those were great accomplishments. The fact that they were competitive with the Warriors is also an accomplishment considering they were depleted.

Saying the Cavs would have won if healthy is speculation and sour grapes, two things they don't need. All things considered, this was a successful season. That's all that really needs to be said. They are still the best team in the east and will challenge for the title, health is their only competition in the east.

face it- the Bulls best chance was last year and they blew it. The Bulls are condemned to another 4-5 years of Serfdom to the King. Tell Rose to get his shine box....LeBrons shoes are a little scuffed.

No.
I'd be happy if my team was way over the cap and it would be a long term edge.
I'm not for overpaying several players to be the 9-12 men on the bench which will preclude me from adding players in a year or 2 when everyone else can.

Nothing is for sure, of course. The Cavs technically are the favs, but the Warriors should have the most pressure to repeat. Luck only takes you so far...eventually
Nah, Cavs will have the most pressure on them until LeBron brings one home to Cleveland. He dumped Miami, where he was winning, specifically for that reason. Every year until he wins one there is maximum pressure.

There's definitely some risk/downside to the Cavs strategy of committing all this money.

Depending on what they do with the Haywood piece... and IF they do anything with Varejoa... it's not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be (Also depends on TT's actual numbers, which is still a ?)

I mean, If you're going to lock in a bunch of players to long term contracts this is THE BEST year to do it.

It would be much worse if Love had gone with a 1 year deal, like most thought he would

There might not be a more fascinating long-term situation in the league. In the meantime, bringing Wade back on a one-year, $20 million deal puts the Heat about $13 million over the projected tax line, and Miami wants no part of the harsh repeater penalties that would come with paying the tax for a fourth time in five seasons. Mario Chalmers and Chris Andersen are available for nothing, per several league sources, and the Heat have even put out Shabazz Napier feelers with an eye on carving out extra cap room next summer.

Bulls looking at trading for Crawford. Again just rumors. Bulls might be offering Gibson and Hinrich. This way Bulls get that starter/6th man, SG/combo guard and a guy that can hit outside shots and also save money. Clippers get Gibson who can give them a little bit of everything and help with some of the things they will miss from Jordan. This would get Bulls under the cap and not have to pay the tax. Also names being mention coming back to the Bulls is Wilcox and Hamilton.

Overall I like this trade. Crawford would give them that 3rd scorer who can shoot on the perimeter. Imagine lineup of Rose, Crawford , Butler, Mirotic and Noah. Damn. Defense would still be good not great but add a nice scoring punch.

This also makes a lot of sense for the Clippers. Gibson and Griffin is a nice front court. They both give you energy and can rebound and defend.
