There's definitely some risk/downside to the Cavs strategy of committing all this money.

Depending on what they do with the Haywood piece... and IF they do anything with Varejoa... it's not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be (Also depends on TT's actual numbers, which is still a ?)

I mean, If you're going to lock in a bunch of players to long term contracts this is THE BEST year to do it.

For the most part I agree, but not overpay the 9-12 players on the bench when it will probably handcuff you next year.

It really is just a case of James forcing Gilbert to try to stack the deck as much as possible to try to win NEXT season.
Things is, for James, if it implodes, he can leave.
Simple as that.

Bulls resign Brooks 1 year. Not a big fan of this move. He really looked done in the Cavs series.

dont you find it hilarious how all these guys are trying to tear down the Cavs? It cracks me up - anyone of them would be over the moon to have their team be in the Cavs situation....you just gotta remember that the favorite always has a target on his back- and a lot of teams dont have much to root for...

If Cavs situation you mean had prime LeBron James, then yes. But you can keep your other players. We're already overpaying that bum Reggie Jackson... I'd lose my shit if we were going to pay Shumpert, Thompson, and Smith big money.

Nah, Cavs will have the most pressure on them until LeBron brings one home to Cleveland. He dumped Miami, where he was winning, specifically for that reason. Every year until he wins one there is maximum pressure.
:dingdingding:

no doubt. you saw how much the spotlight was on him during the playoffs and finals...

Yeah, I mean he could leave. I just really doubt he does unless either they win a title... or Gilbert just does something ridiculously stupid (not out of the realm of possibility).

You never know though. You're right, I mean Gilbert is on the hook for this long term commitment.. and LeBron isn't (at least not financially, not so far). I do think LeBron is all in on CLE, though.

All four years.. he's hovered right around 1/4 of a block a game. Nothing to brag about, but not horrible for his position, either.
No, no, no. Not collectively throughout his career. I was referring to the same season in which you boasted about his 11 blocks in 13 playoff games.

not true. That might be one of the worst statements I ever saw. I don't see no other team spending that much. Cavs will be 200-250 mill. I think the next team will be at 165mill(trying to find out now the amount).

If you have to pay the tax you are still trying to get a championship, whether you want to believe it or not lol. Like I have said I could care less about Gilbert, so he owes this to Cleveland and Lebron after the things he said.
They could go a $1 billion over the cap, doesnt matter.

So a team that had the best record in the league best point differential, best offense and best defense is lucky??

There is always luck involved with every championship. The teams they played had major injuries in the playoffs. Great season, but you would be a fool to deny luck didnt play a part.

LOL...

1) I don't know if I was boasting about his 11 blocks... just pointing out that it wasn't a total fluke.

2) He was very steadily consistent over each of his 4 years... every year was basically the same. 20 blocks, 21 blocks, 23 blocks, 20 blocks. His most recent season was no different than any other.

As a fan 100% but don't act like they aren't trying to really Buy a championship especially when there is no other team to compare to. This just adds more pressure to the Cavs and LBJ. They have to win one now and their best chance will be this coming year. Cavs are locked with this team for the next 3-5 years. There is no wiggle room for this team.

Which could be a very good thing or a very bad thing depending on health and how the team performs. We don't know yet.

There's definitely risk involved... but there's also a decent shot at a big payoff.

I do think GS got a little lucky to play all 3 teams with No PG. but like someone said luck is always part of a championship. U need a little luck on your side. It doesn't hurt. GS had a great year and u cant take anything away from them. Do I think they were one of the best champions in the last 10 years no but they were 1 hell of a team. Now if they win it again this year, now u can start talking about a Great team.

The funny part is you don't even realize (or refuse to realize, since you claim to be the smartest here) that YOU put that target on their back every time you post a book on here about their greatness, the owner being the richest and smartes of all the other owners & then try to force that horse hockey down our throats!

On another note, I would say that the franchise doesn't agree with you in thinking they're the best otherwise they wouldn't be so willing to spend upwards of $200 mil on three guys alone to try to compete.

Rumor is Warriors will stretch Gerald Wallace to save some money.

Man, when did Wallace turn into a player that gets stretched? He was a very nice player to have not that long ago.

Obviously but I thought you were saying that the way they played all season was lucky
