The Cav's very likely would have swept GS had Love and Irving both been healthy in the finals. The fact that they won two games without those two and were close in another one was nothing more than a minor miracle.

Just getting healthy makes the Cav's the team to beat in this league even with the upgrades the Spurs made.

I don't know if people watched this season. The Cav's struggled mightily out of the gate....that shouldn't really have surprised people. Miami struggled early in year one too when Lebron and Bosh first got there. Most teams new to each other struggle (the major exception being that Boston team when KG and Allen first got there). But after that they went on a tear and were the best team in the league and would have had a ring if not for a fluke injury to Love and Irving breaking down.

Anyone denying that simple doesn't know basketball or wasn't paying attention. No team in the league should be able to withstand injuries to 2 of their top 3 players and still compete at an elite level. The Cav's did and they have mostly brought back the same team. You can hate on Lebron all you want but he is still BY FAR AND AWAY the best player in this league and there isn't even that close of a 2nd.
I would say that if you think that the Cavs would've swept the Warriors had they been fully healhty that you don't know basketball or pay attention yourself. Come on really, a sweep?? LOL

I don't think that anyone here is saying LBJ isn't the best player in the league. What they are saying is that you put him on ANY team in this league and they're considered the favorite. The difference is that the team that actually won the Finals had more depth and that's a fact you cannot deny. The fact that the Cavs were without 2 of their core players only exposed that they didn't build a TEAM but instead added a couple of PLAYERS to play with LBJ. The difference is the Warriors trophy compared to, well, Gilberts luxury tax bill after next season.

You act like these injuries never happen. Kyrie has not had a healthy season, ever! You can not count on him to be there; you can hope, but not count on it. Love's injury was a "fluke", but he too has missed many games. Injuries are part of the luck of the NBA.
Plus, it is simply ridiculous to say they would sweep a team of GSW quality, they are better than Boston or Atlanta.

I would still put them as pre-season favorites in the betting line, but they are far from the sure thing you make them out to be, even if healthy.

"The Heat might have been with Arison--- the Cavs have added or had quality players like Mozgov, Varejao, Shumpert, Thompson--- thats the difference between Gilbert and Arison---- Arison was willing to pay a big 3- but wouldnt pay to put anyone around them- Gilbert is willing to pay to put talent around them"

Wiggy, try learning how the salary cap works.

When the Big 3 all signed at the same time (which took near a full day to figure out how that could even work), it pretty much ended any chances of them having any significant $$ to sign anyone, ever, as long as the salary cap remained at or near the level that it was.

Miami was injured throughout the year and couldn't stay consistent with their lineups, that affects on-court chemistry.

Funny thing about it too, is that he's all over the injury excuse for the Cavs losing to the Warriors, but doesn't seem to think it had anything to do with what became of the Heat's season. Losing key pieces is losing key pieces. The only difference is when the Heat suffered their injuries vs. when the Cavs did.

+1 Thank God for someone with a little objectivity.

The Cavs played the best ball in the league after they made their trades. That was not by accident. They have the most talented team in the league, the best player, and an owner willing to spend. Plenty of bitter people have tried to drag them down- but the facts are the facts.
Now you're looking for objectivity now that your team is considered a loser like the other 28 teams in the league? :rolleyes2:

Well why it bring it up all the time. Give it a rest, why point it out if it hasnt happened yet in his career smh

Maybe because in all reality he is 'due'?

If you clowns can predict 10 straight Finals which hasn't happened yet, I can predict as to why it won't happen.

Cavs are a layup line with kyrie and love defending the curry/dray PNR

Nothing is for sure, of course. The Cavs technically are the favs, but the Warriors should have the most pressure to repeat. Luck only takes you so far...eventually

Due? wow lol. So Duncan is due for an injury bc he is 39 and hasnt had serious injuries, it makes no sense.

So the Warriors are "bitter people"?
They certainly are the ones who dragged them down.

yep, you had it alright. Lost 4-2 without the Cavs two stars and a banked buzzer-beater to get 1 win. Delusional and hopeful Bulls fan. At least you have heart.
Both teams were with out a starter (Gasol and Love). Irving played. Stop with that crap. U also had a buzzer beater. LOL As a fan u always have to be Hopeful. I don't think my bulls can win it all against the West but in East they have a shot. Like I said before Gasol injury we were up 2-1 and was about to make it 3-1 until he got hurt. We were up by 12pts. Im not scared of the Cavs. Are they good yes but not afraid or nervous. If this was the West then yes.

How have the warriors done nothing exactly?? They just kept a 67 win team together
I agree I don't think they need to do anything. As a GS fan maybe pick up another Big but overall stay the path. They are young and now are champions. They don't need to do anything.

We have already seen what this team can do. Is it so hard for you guys to wrap your brain around it lol. They will do just fine, you guys were saying the same thing last year, that worked out above expectations.
No it worked out the way I thought. they got 1 more extra win then I thought. I had Cavs in the Championship. East is weak. I stated multiple times. East got a little better this up coming year.

Duncan doesn't play near the same level/style of game as James.

James both takes and gives a pounding.

I know what he puts into to keeping his body right, and it sure has paid dividends for him, but I doubt he's playing 100+ games for 10 years straight without some injury slowing him down or stopping him for awhile.

wait a minute there- Love missed all 6 games- Kyrie and Gasol missed comparable amounts of time in that series that is for sure- and Varejao also was out the whole time...please dont try and act like Gasol missing 2 games was more important than the injuries to Love, Varejoa and Kyrie because clearly it was not

I honestly I dislike LeBron, Kyrie, Love and hate all things Ohio but I can't pass this up:

Wow one good defensive play after Steph dropped a easy 27 by the way that's a foul.

Yeah, Lebron had some scrub teams around him in Miami. Boy, those 3 NBA trophies in Miami look so god awful. Wish we had all of those participation trophies that they have in Cleveland.

And yes, I'll be cheering on the Spurs (like I did with the Dubs) when they take on Cleveland. I'm still a Heat fan no matter what. But I don't jump from team to team like Lebron fans.
I agree if Cavs make it to the Finals I will be cheering for the West team. Its nice to see a team try and buy a championship and fail. When u spend that amount like the Cavs have if they don't win its embarrassing.

So a team that had the best record in the league best point differential, best offense and best defense is lucky??

I got news for you.... every single team in the NBA is doing everything they can to "buy" a championship.
