It all matters about players that fit the system. Aldridge, from what we've seen the Spurs roll out on offense the last few years - is a perfect fit. I don't see where this 4th all-star is on Cleveland....please help me. If that 4th is Joe Johnson, then you're a few years removed from him being an all-star player.

Varajeo made the All-Star team once. So technically he is, but he is hurt all the time.

Uhh Lol nah. Boris is most likely gone I thought.
That bench is nowhere near the Spurs have had in recent years. Last year they had those guys minus West, plus Bellineli, Joseph, Baynes. It still is good but some guys will probably have to play more minutes then they have in the past. The Spurs have always been about playing their Big 3 less and give other guys good minutes and going 12 deep. Guys will step up and will probably be deep going into the postseason but right now that bench is average.
starting lineup is way better but bench took a hit.

good point man- when they win 30 games instead of 21 games and end up with the 4th or 5th or 6th pick in the lotto and have to give it up- you can always hang your hat on those extra 9 wins that those signings gave you

TOTALLY WORTH IT. Finishing 11th or 12th last in the West instead of last . Im sure fans would MUCH rather finish 11th or 12th in the West and give up a top 3 pick- then hvae an extra 10M in cap room and the 3rd pick.....but hey- you are totally right- its what they pay you the big bucks for

The draft lottery doesn't guarantee you anything. The Knicks fell out of the top 3. I get what you are saying though. Regardless of these signing, they'll have plenty of cap space next summer.

The Heat have to get in the middle of everything. I think Riley just wants to be the center of attention again.

The starters have the edge but way better, I dont know about that.

I would take the Spurs 4-5 but would take the Cavs 1-2-3.

Why do people keep saying this??

Last years core bench: Diaw, Ginobili, Mills, Bellinelli
This years core bench: Diaw, Ginobili, Mills, West

The only other players who got any playing time at all (sporadically) were Joseph, Baynes, Anderson, and Bonner.
Anderson is still here and Bonner can be signed if they really want him for 700K

So, the gloom and doom of the bench is ........ Cory Joseph and Aron Baynes???
They are the freaking 10th and 11th men.

10th and 11th man worries. I am sure it keeps Popovich up at night. How can they ever find guys like that??

What guarantee that they'll get a top 3 pick? Miami had the worse record in 2008, Bulls were 41-41 just missing the playoffs, yet the Bulls got the number one pick. It's all about how the ping pong balls fall.

Myself, Mecca, and others have already pointed out the reasons why this is something you have to do. The Lakers aren't fortunate enough to have a great player like Lebron, be from Cali and want to come back and play for them. I'm not going to explain anymore on this since you like to get into these senseless debates.

West opt out of 12 mill to sign a 1.5 mill contract. Talking about making the wrong choice. Yes he has a better shot at winning but overall bad money decision.

What if he's the type to save his money and doesn't live a lavish life style?

Cavs I would take LBJ and irving. Thats about all compared to the spurs. Leonard Can guard LBJ.

very true. He just wants a ring and i respect that its just crazy to see a player turn down 12 mill to sign for 1.5. U don't usually see that. credit to him.

Well, they are working on a S&T. That was mentioned yesterday. Nothing official as of yet. Hopefully they can squeeze a future first rounder of it. A pipe dream would be to get Justin Anderson.

Ultimately I believe a 3-teamer with Indiana will be executed with the Lakers shipping out either Young or the combination of Sacre/Kelly.
