If Oakland wants to make it back to the playoffs, they'll need a new closer. Jim Johnson sucks.

Stephen Drew still on the market, and according to sources could stay there until after the draft in June, same as Morales. You think Boras misplayed his hands?

And if Tejada keeps up his play throughout, cross the Mets off of the list for Drew. Still taking a flyer on Morales though, upgrade over Ike+Duda.

Can't be any worse than the Isles.

The Isles have a star player in John Tavares & a budding star in Ryan Strome. The Padres are afraid to bring up their best prospects. Their starting OF is an absolute joke. Headley is NOT a star. He's a solid player who had 1 outstanding year.

Ah dont be so hard on the Pads. They'll be alright, it's still way early. Gyorko is good. Amarista. Alonso. Cabrera. When do Josh Johnson, Cameron Maybin and Carlos Quentin get back

Josh Johnson has a forearm strain. No timetable at this point that I know of. Maybin is stealing 5M per year. He CAN'T HIT. Quentin's knees keep him from being in the everyday lineup even when he's healthy. The Padres have some really good pitchers & position players in their system. I think they should bring some of these position players up & give them a chance because this team simply isn't good enough offensively.

Turned 35 yesterday.
thought he was a few years younger than that, but then I remembered he was mentioned in Moneyball (he was drafted out of college in '02 by the Indians). Hard to believe he didn't really pitch in the majors until he was 28 (save for a start and a couple relief appearances). He's put together a pretty good career though.

Wings needed a point to clinch like the Wild last night. They got it. But unlike the Wild they couldn't finish of the game and get in a WINNER. No Heart.

Sorry dougy

ehhh. Buchholz allegedly did something similar last year too. I'm sure a bunch of pitchers doctor pitches in various ways.

No doubt. But other pitchers at least try to hide it lol. Pineda got a big ol chunk of it right there on his palm.

no doubt, it's pretty blatant something's up. I'm just not really upset about it.

This is due to a combination of things. One being that the Brewers are WAY better than a lot of the experts thought they were and the Phillies are WAY worse than a lot of the experts thought they were.

I get a laugh at these experts that are surprised the Brewers are doing well. I mean, shit, look at their lineup...

1. Carlos Gomez - All-Star Gold Glove CF last year
2. Jean Segura - All-Star SS last year
3. Ryan Braun - 2011 MVP and perennial All-Star RF
4. Aramis Ramirez - Perennial All-Star 3B
5. Jonathan Lucroy - Would be an All-Star C if the NL wasn't so loaded with good catchers. I think he might be able to make an All-Star game now that Brian McCann is in the AL.
6. Khris Davis - a young LF you're going to be hearing a lot about.
7. Mark Reynolds - Okay, nothing really that special here.
8. Scooter Gennett - A very good young 2B that is far more productive than that bum Rickie Weeks

That's a pretty damn good lineup there. Sure, it isn't as "homer heavy" as a lot of past Brewer lineups, but the hitters are better overall.
