Nebraska was looking for a junior-college tight end, and Vandenburg was set to take a visit. Apparently not now, as Vandenburg himself reported on Twitter that offensive coordinator Tim Beck called him and said Nebraska was not longer looking for a JUCO TE. Vandenburg wasn’t particularly happy about it — “This was less than 3 days before my visit. I find that unorganized and uncalled for, and honestly not the way to recruit or run a program. ” — but if Nebraska lost interest, it lost interest. Better that the kid not go on a trip under false pretenses.

So far as we know, Carter’s still making the visit, and he might be the guy that Nebraska’s excited about despite pedestrian rankings. Carter has only a grayshirt offer to LSU — that means he’d enroll next January, or perhaps toil as a redshirt before getting a scholarship — so he’s looking at other options. This is a player that Terry Joseph uncovered.
It does leave NU, apparently, without a mature option at tight end beyond Jake Long, who will be a senior. Long’s not a bad player. He is not, though, Ben Cotton and Kyler Reed combined.

I'm trying not to jump the gun and jizz all over this place or anything......but when I was watching his videos, I thought he looked exactly like the type of RB that you'd see playing at Oregon.
