same kinda thing happened with kevario middleton who wanted to transfer from UW.. in that case, it didn't work out (good for us, he had a shitty year)

Big fat recruiting update, 8/8

BY Sam McKewon | 11:25 am, Wednesday, Aug. 8 | POSTED IN Big Red Today

Torii Hunter, Jr, 6-1/175, WR, Prosper (Texas): Ala, Ark, ND, OSU, NU

247: 4/231/26

247C: 4/335/46

R: 3/NR/97

S: 3/NR/50

E: 4/50/8

The son of Major League Baseball star Torii Hunter made the rare mid-week visit to NU, hoping to check out the football and baseball programs. According to several recruiting sites, he liked all the facilities, and Hunter’s dad knows Nebraska baseball coach Darin Erstad. More importantly:

“It was a fun visit, especially being around some of the players,” he told Huskers Illustrated. “I can’t remember the names but most of the wide receivers like Jamal (Turner) and Quincy (Enunwa). They were the main two. I was just there with a group of them and laughing while they were watching film and making fun of things. At the same time they were learning and grasping what the coaches were telling them.”

It’ll be a long, drawn-own recruiting battle for Hunter. But NU’s made a decent impression.

Toby Johnson, 6-4/305, DT, Hutchinson (Kan.) CC: Georgia, OU, NU, Ole Miss, USC, Miami (Fla)

5/NR/NR – 247

4/4/1 – 247C

4/NR/NR – R

4/NR/NR – S

The Huskers’ top target at defensive tackle has settled on four of his five official visits, according to 247Sports.

“I know Georgia, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and I will decide on that fifth one,” he said. “It will probably be USC or Miami, but I have not made up my mind yet.”

Johnson played high school football in Georgia.

Scott Quessenberry, 6-4/265, C/OG, Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon: Cal, NU, Wash

247: 4/169/4

247C: 4/287/5

R: 3/NR/49

S: 3/NR/7

E: 4/189/2

The Huskers’ top center prospect has set a visit date: Oct. 27 vs. Michigan

Beau Sandland, 6-5/250, TE, Los Angeles Pierce College: OU, Ole Miss, Fla, NU, ASU, Cal

247: 4/3/1

247C: 4/2/1

R: 4/NR/NR

S: 4/NR/NR

The big tight end took his official visits to Nebraska and Oklahoma over the summer, will visit Ole Miss during the season, and take two more after the year’s over, according to Huskers Illustrated.

Sandland’s blunt about what he’s looking for.

“It has to be for a JUCO guy,” Sandland told HI. “When you’re a high school kid you have the luxury of being there five years. I only have three to play two and none of the schools recruiting me have talked about redshirting me or anything like that. If everything goes right, and barring injury, I’ll play two years and go on to the NFL hopefully. Obviously there’s going to be competition and I don’t expect to be named starter over the phone, but I do expect to go somewhere that I’ll have every opportunity to be the guy and be expected to be the starter by the staff.”

Joe Fennell, 6-5/310, OL/DL, Ft. Myers (Fla.) South: Fla, S. Car, NU

247: 3/NR/38

247C: 3/422/42

R: 3/NR/17

S: 3/NR/42

Here’s a guy from coming in from the Sunshine State radar. According to Rivals, this giant is down to the Huskers, Gamecocks and Gators.

“I know Florida would like to see me at guard or tackle,” Fennell told Rivals. “And South Carolina and Nebraska at defensive tackle.”

Good news for NU: Fennell likes defense.

I'm hearing he sounds wishy washy.

Wtf are you committing for if you aren't that sure?

Don't commit and then say you don't know if you're gonna take more officials.

Worst mistake they can make is to think they're done recruiting him.

Bigger deal today (for me) is Moore qualifying

He is 100% N

We don't have to worry about him going back on his word.

The actual talent level is probably about 17th if you look at quality and disregard quantity.
