This season is gone. Third straight season I've been upset with this team, I think it's time to start remodeling our team and our organization. Fire KT and Gibby and bring in some new blood. Stick with this team for a little bit and see if they turn things around with a new skipper and if they don't by the end of May or early June then it's time to sell.

I'd start by unloading Miggy's contract then try to see if we can get any value out of McCarthy/Cahill/Arroyo in the trade market. Aaron Hill could also be a nice trade piece... if we dealt him then Didi/Owings could man 2nd and short.

Ross and Trumbo are both new-ish additions and I'd do whatever it takes to deal at least one of those two.

Build the team around an offensive core of Prado, Goldy, Parra, Owings, Didi & Pollock and try to get some young arms to add to the rotation to join Miley, Corbin & Bradley for next year. Getting rid of at least 3-4 "big" contracts would help this offseason as well and keeping vets like Prado, Goldy & Parra would keep the team at least somewhat competitive.

The bullpen is pretty much fine long-term, but we're going to need Collmenter to be in the pen in the long run for it to be more successful. Deal Putz. Keep Ziegler & Reed and start developing our younger relievers.

If we free up enough $$$ then we could go after a big name SP this winter and at least one solid bat. This team has some talent but the pieces just don't fit... it's time for a change.

Your starting pitching is god-awful. I don't get the "Bradley won't save us" talk. What could he hurt!?! (AZ has the worst team ERA by over a half point. That's an issue.) Can't expect an offense to score 6 to win.

I totally agree. They need to trade Trumbo NOW. It's early and his power numbers give him value NOW. Arroyo has to go early too if possible. We can at least pretend he's just off to a slow start and being infected by the crap environment and maybe trick someone into believing he doesn't just plain suck.

We'd be luck to get a few extra cups for the players groins for McCarthy or Cahill. Probably still be worth it though.

But we have to fire KT first. If we don't, he'll probably end up trading Archie Bradley for like Cesar Itzuris before we can stop him.

Anyone who knows anything about sports knows it is time to fire Towers. Now this article was put up today on the Arizona Sports website. This has to be one of the most embarrassing, pathetic, horrible articles I have ever seen written by a sports writer in my life. Diamondbacks didn't have a chance after Sydney ArizonaSports.com This guy actually says that the reason the Diamondbacks are struggling is because they had to go overseas to start their season. Really? Is that why the other team that went, the Dodgers, are in first place even though their ace is out injured?

This guy who wrote the article must be best friends with Towers or something. The Diamondbacks suck because they suck. Their starting rotation is the worst in baseball just like I said it would be prior to the start of the season.

I have never seen a general manager make so many terrible moves . Literally every single move he made this offseason has backfired. Let's take a look at them:

Did not get Tanaka so he signed Arroyo instead. That is definitely not working out so far.
Traded Tyler Skaggs (3.21 era) and Adam Eaton (.282, 10 rbi, 15 runs scored) for Mark Trumbo, who has big power, but is batting an awful .210 and is a bad defender in left field.
Threw away David Holmberg (who was a top prospect for the Diamondbacks) just so a team would take Heath Bell's salary.
Traded Matt Davidson (now considered the White Sox's number one prospect) for Addison Reed who has a current ERA of 4.00 and a career ERA of 4.16.
Signed Oliver Perez out of nowhere less than two weeks before the season started. Has a current ERA of 4.35 and a career ERA of 4.53. What the hell was Towers thinking? Seriously.

Oh yeah, his biggest failure of the offseason, his inability to acquire an ace. I must have posted about that between 5-10 times during the offseason. All Towers does is throw away prospects, sign over the hill veterans, and act unprofessional by shouting his mouth off to the media. This guy has to be fired. Ken Kendrick will be a laughingstock if he does not fire him.

The reason 90% of the team is terrible...Kevin Towers or jet lag? Yeah, I'm thinking Kevin Towers.

The Trumbo trade looks more ridiculous than ever now. When 4 of your 5 starters would be laughed out of a AAA team lockerroom, you might not have wanted to discard Tyler Skaggs.

And acquiring Addison Reed makes no sense. There is no need for a closer on this team at all. You have to be in the lead at the end of the game to even use them effectively.

I had been searching for this quote and I finally found it. This is exactly the reason why I have no trust in Kevin Towers whatsoever and he is completely incompetent. There is no way in hell he knows what he is doing and this article proves how pathetic his. His judgement of talent is non-existant. Here is the quote for the article:

But he was shipped to the Diamondbacks in January as part of the Justin Upton trade, and at the time many viewed him as no more than a back-of-the-rotation starter. The Diamondbacks thought he could be more than that; they actually liked him better than fellow Braves pitching prospect Julio Teheran, whom most of the industry seemed to rate above Delgado.

“We thought that with Teheran, the returns would be more positive more quickly,” Towers said. “But we thought Delgado might have the higher upside in the future.”

Delgado was one of five players the Diamondbacks acquired in the seven-player trade, but he did not make a great first impression with his new organization.

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/dia...acks-randall-delgado-fast-learning-curve.html

So Kevin Towers thought that Delgado has more upside than Julio Teheran. What else is there to say about him? Teheran currently has a 1.47 ERA and a WHIP of 0.93 in six starts. He has thrown at least six innings in all six starts. His ERA last was 3.20 last year in 30 starts which was basically his rookie season.

Kevin Towers must, I repeat must, be fired. This guy has no eye for talent and constantly trades away young, controllable top prospects for garbage players. He might be the worst general manager I have ever seen.

With each day KT is still employed with the D-Backs, they lose more credibility. They aren't fooling anyone. He was an abject failure. Fire him NOW before you allow him to make another stupid move.

In defense of KT and Gibby at this point, a 5.86 ERA would make Harrell our #2 starter and possibly the Ace by all-star break. Even a 9.49 ERA gives him job security in this rotation.
