I think so...too many injuries to overcome and reasoning has to sit in. I believe this should also happen if ANY teams are interested. Let's stock pile some picks for next April starting with Breeland.

5.) Bashaud Breeland to the Lions for a 3rd round draft pick: The Redskins are young at corner, so moving Breeland would force another player into the rotation, but I really like what I’ve seen from Quinton Dunbar, and Fabian Moreau, and I don’t think Breeland is in the team’s long-term plans.

I'm trying to bring Breeland back. That is a completely differet defense with Bree and Josh out there together. Breeland posted a shutout against Philly two weeks ago and he's a scraper like Garçon. Something this team is missing.

The future is Moreau. It is likely Breeland is allowed to walk next off season.

The future is dox. Let let Jax and PG go , how’d that work out ?
I'm not sure what you are trying to say dad. Setting this team up for the future is exactly what we should be doing right about now. Breeland is not worth top dollar at CB when we have reinforcements to fill in just fine when he walks. Today, you could have gotten at the very least a draft pick as compensation.
As for your hard on along with Shark over Doctson, he will be just fine for us.

While I get the sentiment in looking toward the future, you can never have too many CBs. Breeland is having a very good year. We should try and retain him. Besides, no one would trade for him right now given he is injured and a pending FA.

saying a guy with a handful of defensive snaps and calling him anything is a huge reach

MKD had a handful of snaps as a rookie and so far this year he is a bust

why is it we are always wanting to get rid of our own home grown talent ? we drafted BB , we developed him , and just when we can get him in his prime we want to send him packing ? so another team reaps the benefits ? we should try to keep him

I really think that there are some on this forum that think its more important to be frugal than good. Why they are so concerned about spending Danny's money is baffling to me.

I think this is a ruse, most could care less how Dan Spends his money. And those most adamant, have little or no knowledge of how the cap really works. But its a good reason to say we can not "Afford" to keep (insert player name here).

Dude, you realize that we have like 10 new starters on our team from last year to this year? How is that keeping the same players? And while we all agree you need new blood every year, your proposal is to get rid of the really good ones and keep the ones that suck just because they are cheaper.

That's how they did it in their best years. Guys played or the Redskins 6-12 years. Clearly you can't do that as easily these days but it can work if you keep guys at a good cap number or find them to be good football players.

You were touting Maroo or Moreau (actual name) the other day and he got almost no snaps last game. I have to agree, you guys just want to keep looking for the new shiny penny. If Breeland is playing well why do you need to replace him? If he was starting to decline it would make sense but if he is in the middle of his best years .... maybe a two or three year contract?

Yep & let's just completely ignore the effects of injuries. Dean, Coach & Country will all say that this is an excuse & regardless they should "just play better" or attribute all issues to Cousins. Reality check - when you lose almost your entire O-line, a good deal of your secondary & pro bowl TE for huge stretches, 2 key members of your front 7 & your K it will hamstring you significantly. Don't know why these guys don't see this. To say something like "Regardless - I just think they should play better" is just plain stupid.

Don't care who they retain, draft or pickup in the offseason - if they continue to encounter injuries at this rate they will not succeed. Hopefully luck is on their side moving fwd or it least in 2018. Not an excuse - just reality.

You obviously do not recognize talent dad. Doctson has it and will be a productive WR for us. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Good grief Gentlemen, my post about Breeland (trades were a hot topic yesterday in case you didn't notice) is not because he sucks because he doesn't. It is about building for the future. If I was all about "win now" then Breeland stays along with Norman, Nicholson and we sign another safety since Cravens has decided to take a sabbatical. Re-sign Brown (now) and fill in player B along side him. Get more reinforcements up front to help Allen next year. Spend away for all I care, (as shark said, its not our money). Realistically, we cannot sign every FA we have or any FA that might be available for that matter. (This isn't the Darrell Green years). You have to be frugal in some aspects of assembling your team based on talent, availability, productivity and needs. Notice I didn't mention trying to trade anyone else. I do think Breeland has some value (age, productivity) however, spending big dollars on corner #2 is not the answer. We pay corner #1 a lot of money and with Dunbar, Moreau, Holsey & Fuller on the roster, a trade for another 3rd or 4th rounder would certainly lessen the sting of letting Breeland walk this off season because I believe that is what the FO will do. Breeland is replaceable, Norman is not.

Breeland is a very good CB and we should look to retain his rights, yes that includes the FT. His play this season surpasses expectations of a first round rookie. Yes, teams would trade for him under the tag.

Doctson needs to be put in a place to succeed. I am sorry, why the hell do we have dwarfs in the game in the red zone when we can have 6'4 and 6'5 targets. Doctson also showed he can take a WR screen and get a nice gain. TBH, I think our team is suffering by too many targets and not enough balls to go around. Sometimes the coach has to do more to get the most of his players.
