His feet were in the crease, I see nothing wrong with that hit. If your gonna crash the net, be prepared to get TT'd.

Because they are the netminder. They shouldn't be touched when manning their post. But I agree, if they decide to come out and play the puck, or check an opposing player, then they should be fair game.

Being a box lacrosse goalie,I know damn well the repercussions if I decide to leave my crease and go up floor. Our team is pretty stacked,so lots of times I play the point when I go up floor.

I have always thought that if an NHL goalie leaves his crease,he is fair game.

I get an indian rubber ball coming at me at over 100 miles an hours lots of nights and don't feel it.NHL goalies are very protected,so if they want to venture out of their crease, they are open game.

Jeez, don't you guys know Thomas is from Flint? If you think that was bad, try running up on his front porch.

Heard him this morning (from last night) say that in practice if he lets the player put the puck down he gets scored on all the time. So he decided to not let the player put the puck down.

I thought that was great. The puck is in Sedin's body and Sedin's body is entering the crease. I'd say he has every right to make that play.

Never been to Flint, but I've heard some crazy stuff about that place. I go through Sagnasty a lot to get to the bay, and it's a different world over there. I think as a Westsider I might be a little sheltered.

Here's an explanation of the rule, from former referee Kerry Fraser, on the TSN site.

Fraser: The lowdown on the Thomas hit on Henrik Sedin

lol

In Garth's final season as the Islanders' goalie he and I were waiting for a faceoff in his end zone following a commercial timeout. The Islanders were a struggling team at that point and a pretty frustrated bunch of players. Snowy said to me, "You want to know a scary thought Frase? Things are going so bad for us right now that I'm the toughest guy we have on this team and I'm the bloody goalie!"
