what is the buyin? I heard its $500K in canada and that most cities hand pick who they allow.

I'm working from home tomorrow so I think I'll check it out. They are advertising pretty heavy on all 3 NJ/NY hockey broadcasts for franchise ops. Remember they are totally new to the region, not like Canada,

They outperform Starbucks here by a LARGE margin. They are always packed. All of them. I pass three on my way to work. Long lines every morning.

I am not a coffee drinker, but their breakfast sammiches are AWESOME.

The one's that have a cold stone creamery in them, suck dick. You might have to wait a few extra minutes (or usually longer)for a coffee, while some lardass is buying a tub of ice cream.

Only 1 store here has seperate lines for coffee and ice cream.

DO they still do the roll up the rim game?

That shit may work in Canada were coffee drinkers use common sense, but they are pushing their luck by expanding their US territory.

Just wait, some idiot is going to roll up that rim, spill a full cup of coffee on his or her self and become a multi millionaire in eight months time. I've actually been waiting for Timmy's to expand here to try this, but for some reason they haven't made it this way yet.

My uncle approached my dad about buying a Tim Horton's franchise about 25 years ago. My dad declined because he's really not the entrepreneurial type. My uncle is but didn't have the capital. Anyway since that time there are probably 2-3 times as many Tim Horton's franchises that there were at the time.

Hockey's popularity in Canada I think is a bit over-stated at times. Tim Horton's popularity most certainly is not. I don't go very often myself since I'm not a really a fan of coffee or donuts. I don't mind their sandwiches though so I might go once in a while.

My son lives in a small city in South west Ohio near the Indiana line. They have a few of them there but he was surprised that not many people know that Tim Horton was a hockey player. :L

If we could get a Tim Horton's in Charlotte it would be amazing.

My wife and I even called their corporate offices a few years ago to inquire and they said they weren't willing to open this far south just yet.

A few years later Krispy Kreme (the dominant player in this market) goes bankrupt and closes the majority of their Charlotte area stores.

If only Tim Horton's had been here to take over.
